Renault has confirmed that Romain Grosjean will see out the season for the French car manufacturer, after the team finally acknowledged it was parting ways with Nelson Piquet on Tuesday.

As AUTOSPORT predicted last week, Grosjean has been given the nod to step up to F1 as Fernando Alonso's team-mate, after the team felt it could no longer continue with Piquet.

The news could only be confirmed after Renault's participation in this weekend's European Grand Prix at Valencia was assured by the FIA International Court of Appeal.

No surprises there, good luck to Romain. <thumbsup>

Probably not.

Good luck to the lad, though I can't help but think that Flav has shot himself in the foot for the next few races. How can a brand new inexperienced driver possibly do on a track that he doesn't know with no recent experience in the car he will be driving. (OK know he is the test driver but he won't have driven the car in it's current guise or driven an 2009 spec F1 car for about 5 months).

Young drivers will have to start somewhere. We were a bit uncertain about Alguersuari, but did very well indeed. Hope Grosjean do as well, good luck to him.
Allez Romain!
