"Will he (Schumacher) be faster than the other Ferrari driver?" Montoya questioned Germany's Bild, having battled with the pair for the 2003 Drivers' title. "That would surprise me but you never know; I am sure that they will now have new parts for his comeback, in order to ensure that it looks good."

<roflmao> mouthy as ever. I wonder if we'll ever see him back in F1? Certainly not in a Mclaren. He was a fresh of breath air.

Would he fit in a F1 car?? <sarcasm>

So he is saying if Schumacher is slower than Kimi it is I told you so... and if he is faster than Kimi it is because Ferrari have favoured Michael...

there is no way to counter that mindset...

No biggie, just another person sounding off, of course it shows what a big story this is and verifies that Shumi is in fact one of the largest sports figures in the world even almost 3 years gone.

I'm a little surprised JV hasn't popped off on this at all.

I remind you John that the flip side of that mindset is the norm.

If he does well, then it's because of his talent, if he does crap, it's because he didn't test, has a pain in the neck, doesn't know the car.

You can't counter that kind of mindset.

Is 40!

The mind set all comes down to how you want to see him. If you want to have Shumi look good you will find excuses for why he did not do well, if you want him to look bad you will find excuses as to why he does well. Kinda like when he was driving. Funny how things don't change.

Younger than Mansell when he won his one and only.

To tell you the truth, I'm not an out and out fan, just a respecter of his abilities. Personally, his involvement is just a novelty and not to be taken seriously. Now, if he were back for a season, then yes I would take his involvement seriously.

As I said before, he's got nothing to lose, (except his life) and if he doesn't perform well, none of his fans are going to be disappointed.

If he does poorly I doubt many of his detractors will be disappointed.

I remember him complaining when Hill put himself in the mix at the Hungarian GP in the crap Arrows.

I want him to do neither badly nor well, just not really get in the way of the title fight if he's not going to be around for the full season.

Still, it's the same for everyone, so I guess he's part of the mix. I think anyone still thinking he 'lucked' in has their head up their ass surely.

Erm, Mansell was born in August 1953, which by my reckoning made him 38 when he won his WDC in Hungary in 1992.

Er yeah, just me being a stupid Feck,

I think Mansell made a minor come back and won a couple of races when he was older than Shcuey is now. I'm not one for stats, better ask the stat man. I just like to watch the cars go round in circles.

I think Mansell won a race at 40, but he was in the very good Williams. Shumi is returning in the so-so Ferrari. I expect a podium at best.
