The rebranded MG cars (which admittedly were rovers underneath) sold very well compared to their sister cars, which seemed to remain the main stay of pensioners (not necessarily a bad thing except that it is a very limited market)

Actually that is interesting point as the UK has an aging population so targeting this 'growing' sector could make sence... the problem is more that older buyers tend to keep their cars longer which when your business is selling new cars is a bad thing.

While worshiping at the great BMW shrine? They couldn't possibly do any wrong, could they? I mean they are the first car company to believe that ESP (Extra Sensory Perception, not Electronic Stability Programme) is better than indicators.

In fairness, that comment should be levelled at BMW drivers, and not the company itself. As far as I know they do provide indicators on their vehicles ;)

Well, yeah, I guess you are right. May be BMW should be proactive and run a rehabilitation course for wayward drivers.

Indicators maybe, but mirrors?

Not that this year's BMW F1 car needs mirrors (they can use the blue flags)

<roflmao>

How on earth did they get it so wrong? Didn't they stop development on the 2008 car (much to RK's disgust) to work on this years?

I'm amazed that Toyota are still in the game. It's a matter of time, I guess.

Toyota have signed the Concorde Agreement, committing them to F1 until 2012 .... unless they sell the team to someone else they are in for the next few years. Same with Renault, although it's rumoured that they are looking to sell the team to Flavio at the earliest opportunity.
