In my experience, real fans tend to be much less forthcoming in the declaration of the fact. Even more so the usage of the real fandom as a counter for argument or debate.

Its much like a pro sports player. They dont say they are great, cause they know they are. To say so  is to be the stage pre-greatness.

Meaning that should you declare urself great or indeed a real fan, and by extension pass judgement on others, than you are not as you have yet to reach the final stage in the evolution of your fandom.

Keep going John. U will get there someday/

:)

That is exactly what I would expect a plastic fan to say..... <whistle>

<roflmao>

I'm happy for schumi to be back. It justs adds to the challenge for Hamilton/Vettel etc. who are both known for relishing stiff competition.

surely not everyone see's him how John see's him?

True... I recall Mackem was none too keen but I settle for most <thumbsup>

Actually he wan't keen on Shumi antics, but called him a top 3 driver in F1 history.

I've voted yes. As I said before, I think it is good for F1, but a bad idea for him.

Without disrespecting the board, i don't think it matters what this survey on TPL says, the extra and consistent world press coverage, massive spike in ticket sales, quotes from everyone from current champions to old school champions tells the story itself.

The anticipation is massive and the reporting all focus's on his past driving ability, records tally and his preparation for the first race. None of it dredges up the few 'grey areas' as he put it which constantly got mentioned every race weekend years after they happened.

The headlines, style of reporting and the compliments lavished on him are way better than when he was still racing. He could have stayed on and won another two WDC but he would not be talked of with such reverence as has been done after a two and half season retirement.

I guess you don't know what you had until its gone.

I am sure everyone including myself agree with you on Schumacher impact in F1, but we have been asked to do a poll. I for one enjoyed watching him driving, specially in his last two years being beaten by a young Alonso, but that's nothing to do with the question. I voted NO, I am not happy because he has done his time and Ferrari with a push from Bernie have shown luck of respect to Gene and Badoer.
