<nono> TCG... it is a simple truth, REAL GENUINE F1 fans welcome the return however brief of a 7 time champion... they see the POSITIVE impact his return has already on getting the people talking about the racing... and in the worst economic climate in living memory his return is genenerating ticket sales and boosting track attendances despite the world recession... that is why REAL fans welcome his return.

Yes I know you are right John, I am just taking the opportunity to tease, let us poor humble genuine fans of drivers and teams that spend most of their time at the wrong end of the grid have a little fun every now and then.

As for the whole MS debacle. I have a lot of respect and admiration for him both as a driver and a person.

But I am not an idiot. Ferrari have two very capable test drivers that they could draught in if they so wished. Neither would be given any chance to test the car before racing.

Ferrari are once again flexing their muscles and demanding favour.

Again True, but the poll is not about should Schumacher test when other Ferrari drivers would not... it is about MS return (and despite the poll question being a tad misleading the thread title specifically says as Massa's replacement)

If Ferrari had gon with one ot their other unknown test drivers then the F1 boards would be as dead as they have been all season, the season would be considered almost over and average, ticket sales at Valencia and Spa would be down...

Simple truth is Schumacher's return is a good thing for F1 and for real genuine passionate F1 fans.

which is a fair point but does the bigger picture of the global reputation of f1 not matter more

the biggest cheat ever coming back, is it really what the sport needs?

I have not voted because it's not a yes or no answer. If I had my own preference Massa would still be driving. Not that being the case I'm anticipating seeing Shumi behind the wheel. Happy? I'll decide after we see what he can do.

Well no, I said it because effectively this thread is about wether you are happy to see MS back in F1 or not and nothing to do with points I made about Ferrari.

Although after a while arguing with John does make you feel like you're talking to a wall (covered in MS posters).

I don't really have a problem with John's attitude to MS. It's his choice and no matter what I believe about MS ethics isn't going to undo any of the bad things he undoubtedly did.

the biggest Talent ever coming back, is it really what the sport needs?

And the biggest cheats where allowed to race in 2007 even when they cheated again in 2008 so what is your point...

If you're referring to Mclaren, they don't have the talent for subterfuge that Ferrari have.
