MS is in a win win situation

So nothing unusual there... <whistle>

careful John, you tart retorts may have gotten the better of you as surely a win win situation is one not made by ones own means but something that falls into your lap.

Red Bull are blocking MS 's test now ...

Hold on, let me find the fake surprised smiley... As part of FOTA they already provisionally agreed to it and to make such a statement AFTER the veto has already been used is pointless... <doh>

I guess they saw an opportunity to steal a few headlines... Hey everyone look at us we are important as well,.... no really we are.... hello, anyone there... <roflmao>

Hardly...

A win win situation, as I see it, is where in 250 starts you are 91 times more likely to win your race

I foresee a of racing season in which Michael Schumacher does not win a single race. <yikes>

For F#cks sake TCG, this is John you are talking too here. I'm just going to look for a cliff to jump off.

That would be a rare season indeed but not unusual... 1991 was a bit lean as I recall <think>

So maybe 91 was a bad year

3 DNF and 5th place the best result... no a bad year just a beginners,

however statistically speaking should Schumacher race only the once and place lower than 7th that will officially be his worst season ever but a 5th place he would equal the points from 1991

He'll probably win as many races at the other Ferrari drivers do.

Yup, just like his idol, one way or another, John wins.

<think> the trick is to find the sliver lining...

I am almost gutted that BMW are leaving F1, but as some one reminded me earlier Kubica must be fuming at the news after they allegedly scuppered his title challenge last year... I took heart in that thought and it got me over the disappointment.

As far as I am now concerned BMW are already out of F1 and I no longer have to be concerned if Kubica makes it out of Q3 anymore... it is quite liberating...

Well with two teams objecting, the request will no doubt be denied.

I just hope he can kick ar$e on race day as that is obviously what they fear most........................or do they fear MS might race for all of 2010 as well with Massa as team mate and Kimi despatched to rallying?

You'd better hope he doesn't win or get on the podium - you'll have to change your avatar!

(says he with an out-of-date avatar himself!)

Sorry I have come late to this discussion.

I'd just like to say that I don't agree with what any of you are saying about Frank's reasons for vetoing Schumacher's test.

Firstly I don't think is so small as to see denying Schumi a test as any sort of "revenge" for MS's past actions. And neither on this occasion do I think he is soley concerned with what is best for his team.

The statement says quite clearly:

Quote:

While we welcome Michael Schumacher back to Formula 1, the fact is that any form of in-season circuit testing is strictly prohibited; a regulation clearly laid out by the FIA and adhered to by all of the teams

It was for this reason that Alguersuari, who drove an F1 car for the very first time in Hungary, did not have the opportunity to familiarise himself with the Toro Rosso before he made his race debut.

Williams sees no distinction between Alguersuari's situation and Schumacher's and feels that any deviation from the rule would create a precedent for the future.

In a similar situation, Williams would unhesitatingly use its current test driver. For the sake of consistency and fairness, therefore, we oppose Ferrari's proposal to test ahead of the European Grand Prix.

Frank is old school, he has seldom gotten involved in politics the way other teams do and so I am inclined to accept this statement at face value; Frank is not concerned with whether MS takes a point or two from his team, he is concerned that the rules should be consistently applied to all teams and all drivers, be they rookie or 7 times world champion.

And so are a great number of F1 fans.

just as well I didn't add GP starts (but that wasn't a record anyway)... the same applies he he can score either pole, podium, win or fastest lap.

When Schumacher retired a lot of models of Schumacher's 'last race car' where sold with all his career stats on a plaque.... they would be superseded and new model would have to be made <doh>
