Just lets wait until after M Schumachers first race.

Maybe we will all be very impressed or not by his performance.

If M Schumacher does do very well it would be difficult to not be impressed but we will wait and see.

Yup, his return has made the next race unmissable regardless of result. Until today I was just pleased to hear he was getting a race, I have no expectations beyond a few points or a podium, however now I will just be happy if he finished ahead of the Williams Boys <devil>

I agree totally with you on that one mate.

The crowd and fans around the World will be tuning in to watch M Schumacher.

Even the people who dislike Schumacher will be watching as he is a crowd puller.

I do think its good that he is back for a few races as it gets us all talking about F1 again with passion

Ok passion for and against him but its great to see F1 back on the news on a daily basis <thumbsup>

I don't believe Williams decision has anything to do with FOTA despite their recent history, he is as I have always said doing what is right for his team, Force India have made no statement but I suspect they would take a similar view...

Williams are as I understand it looking at running KERS next season despite the FOTA teams agreeing not to... this could be seen as another dig at FOTA but I suspect as their KERS system is different to the others they see potential that the FOTA teams do not.

the last thing we want is for you to get banned

I am in no danger of that to my knowledge... and naturally I'd hate for such a fate to befall you as well..... mate <thumbsup>

Let's let cooler heads prevail please.

Williams are the only team with 'mechanical' KERS - ie a flywheel in their system is used to feed the energy back into the drivetrain directly. All the others use an electric motor as a dynamo to charge up cells (super capacitors?) under braking, and then as a motor to feed extra ooomph to the transmission. Unless I'm mistaken....

The Williams system was the one Max proposed to be the 'standard' KERS every team ran next year.

MS is in a win win situation regarding the fans. If he does well it's because of his undoubted natural talent, and if he does crap, it's because he's been out of the game for a few years and hasn't had time to get up to speed.

He has nothing to prove, so at least we're not likely to see him do something rash. I hope.

Hopefully he'll take Hamilton out to give the McLaren fans genuine reason for crying about him.... lol

Interesting to note that after the boards have been in the doldrums, post wise for weeks (even during the race season) that the mention of Voldemort... I mean Schumacher returning even if for only one race has brought the place alive....

It is wrong to hop for a tie up w/ Alonso and a shard of carbon fiber pierces Max through his chest where a human's heart would normally be?

Red Bull are blocking MS 's test now ...

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/77540

Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso have joined Williams in opposing Ferrari's request to allow Michael Schumacher to test a 2009-specification ahead of his return to Formula 1 at Valencia later in the month.

The Red Bull teams are unwilling to cede to the request after Dietrich Mateschitz claimed that a similar one by Toro Rosso to give 19-year-old rookie Jaime Alguersuari some track time prior to his F1 debut in Hungary was refused.

"We asked for a test permission for Alguersuari before the Hungarian GP and it was turned down," said Mateschitz. "So why should we approve an exemption for a seven-time-champion after this?

"We are happy that Jaime did such an excellent job on his debut."

Red Bull's motorsport coordinator Helmut Marko told the Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper that he believed Michael Schumacher would have little trouble adapting to contemporary Formula 1 machinery and therefore did not need to test.

"Schumacher is experienced enough to be fairly competitive in the new car very soon," said Marko.

"To let him do an extra test is not in the spirit of the regulations. If he indeed did his run last week on GP2 rubber it will make a huge difference".

"We have the same opinion as stated in the rules, therefore we cannot agree with Michael getting a test exemption", added Marko. "And we are not the only ones to have this opinion."

Something tells me that he may very well end up doing so. Although, having said that, I would suspect that MS being in the race would actually sell more tickets. I still think it would be better for the race if he were there, but you can't really ignore a punishment just because it's someone's home race....

Yet, news of this request wasn't published anywhere as far as I am aware, and I recall everyone on this board asking why STR didn't apply for same....

Maybe they asked very quietly or the request was blocked by spam filters.
