Most likely, yes.

Super Aguri got in with an entry as late as February - so presumably if BMW leave there will be an empty slot into which another team can fit.

I didn't see that one coming... I've been on leave and only saw the TV report on a ships TV with no sound just subtitles... first chance to read anything related to the story was today...

needless to say I am disappointed :( but if it wasn't for the other news that Schumacher will make a one race return I might have been depressed. :)

I figured BMW would drop WTCC and stay in F1... at least I will save a few quid as there will be no more BMW F1 models to collect <think>

I'm surprised that BMW aren't dropping WTCC, too. They've been in dispute for quite some time now over the abysmal chopping and changing of the regulations. I suppose their ALMS program will continue unabated though.

Hopefully they can bow out in grace as Honda did.

<roflmao> <roflmao> <roflmao> <roflmao> <roflmao>

Nice one.

Yeah, Honda, them bastions of fairness.

<roflmao>

I'm sure Aguri Suzuki was smiling on the day honda buggered off out of F1.

I can take the quips.

Yet, history tells a different story. One of Honda supporting SA far beyond the call-of-duty.

And whilst I am not foolish enough to consider any corporate machine to be bastions of anything good other than the generartion of revenue, it has to be said that Honda could of easily turned their back on Brawn and SA.

The question is, will BMW do as Honda did and pump millions into this years car development and then give the team to Mario?

Regardless of the more cynical views, yes Red Andy, I know you jest, the facts are clear to see in the form of Brawn.

So many here lambasted Honda for the exit form F1. If memory serves, John was heading that pack. Nothing wrong with that. Not a criticism in anyway, just an observation.

So, here we are. BMW in the same boat. Not exactly the same though. They are pulling out after 6 months of dire performances. 6 MONTHS!

And now news of the French giant having consumed its hand-out from the French government and that they too are facing extinction.

Honda's exit seem rather more inspired now than it did to many of you previoulsy/.

I am sure there is a quote from somewhere that said;

points year one , a win year two & try for the championship year 3 ...

Althought Bernie seems to say differently
