Bet they are cracking open the champagne at Williams.

After last season I bet BMW thought Williams were on their way out, but Williams are racers and BMW just make cars for business man.

Au contraire.

FIA blotted their copybook with Prodrive in 2008 by failing to win Williams' legal challenge to allowing customer chassis to be sold to them, which they had been absolutely transparently clear to FIA about right from the very start.

I hardly think that's something the FIA can hold against them. I just think that Max doesn't like Dave Richards very much.

I think that's exactly the reason, regardless of whether or not it was reasonable for the FIA to expect Prodrive to have built their own car given the ambiguity about the customer car rules for 2008.

Though it was the teams (Williams and Spyker/Force India), not the FIA who prevented customer cars from being legalised.

Rosberg's options are slimming down. I'd reckon on staying put being the best option.

Wouldn't go that far, but I'm sure Frank might have a smug look on his face for a few days.

Wow, what a bombshell. I thought maybe Renault or Toyota might have left this year, but not BMW. Disappointed to see them go, but hopefully someone else will step in and take their place.

With regards to the above statement by ASAPF, just how many drivers are Ferrari going to have next year? Alonso, Raikkonen, Massa coming back, and now Kubica? Maybe Schumacher to Ferrari? He's apparently going to drive their car til the end of the season you know...... <roflmao>

Also, Heidfeld I think will get a seat somewhere, he is too good a driver not to be in F1.

Eh, I'd have to say that until shown otherwise Alonso and Massa would make a damn good pairing.

I won't miss BMW.

Hopefully they can bow out in grace as Honda did.

I find it wonderfully ironic that the only team insisting that KERS was to be used this year rather than delayed, thereby incurring massive extra running costs to all the teams, who subsequently ditched all plans to use it much to the annoyance of the rest of F1, has to pull out on what is basically economical grounds.

Don't forget to indicate when you leave the paddock.

sure that Nando wouldn't mind the fact that Massa may be considered a Ferrari fave and Nado'd be the new boy?

I don't know if this has been stated or not, but does BMW leaving open the door for another team who got rejected to now get into F1?
