This is a poll to see who people would realistically like to see sit in for Massa while he hopefully makes a full recovery. Ferrari can use two other drivers (aside from Massa and Raikkonen) this season, so I have allowed you to vote for two of the options. Listed are a number of names that have been linked with the seat and talked about on here. You can also vote 'other' and specify.

I know most people would like to see Schumacher or Alonso but I hope the test drivers get at least one race. They'd probably be at or near the back of the grid on pace, but they deserve a shot at it for their loyalty. And imagine Badoer coming back after a decade to score his first ever points after several near misses - that would be a really great story.

Plus, I don't realistically see Schumacher or Alonso doing it. Renault will not let Alonso move to a team they are rivals with, while Schumacher I think would have too much to lose from such a move.

There are some interesting options amongst the others - Bortolotti and Senna for example, but their chance will probably come later, and I doubt Bortolotti at 19 is really ready for it, even if Alguersuari showed that if you're good enough, you're old enough, at the weekend.

Alonso is not a realistic option.

I'd like to see Felipe back behind the wheel, actually :(

Pretty much all the opinions seem to be that Massa will miss the rest of the season, or at least several races. For me, I hope he is not rushed back into the seat because that would be the worst thing for him. He is a sensitive person, and even if he is physically fine in four weeks time (which seems unlikely) it would probably be too soon from a mental point of view.

Alonso is unlikely, but not impossible. Renault are not going to be racing at the European GP, and perhaps there is a clause in his contract that would allow him to race for another team should Renault for some reason be unable to race. I don't think it will happen, but have included him in the list of options nonetheless.

Alonso has rejected to use the seat of an injured colleague so I'll pick Marc Gené.

M Schumacher manager says that not to rules him coming back if Ferrari asks.

Only problem with M Schumacher tho is he suffered a neck injury in a motorbike accident and it may not be strong enough yet

Wouldn't Rossi be more interested in winning the MotoGP title that he's leading at the minute? ;)

I would love to see Alonso in the Ferrari, but I really don't see that happening - at least not as a stand-in for Massa!
Unless Ferrari are really desperate for publicity and bring Schumacher back to fulfill that, I'd say it will be either Gene or Badoer that get the seat, or maybe share it between the two of them

I think Ferrari should have guest drivers for the rest of the season.

M Schumacher
V Rossi when free
B Senna
Gene
Badoer

Just examples but Ferrari would get alot of press if having some of the names above in their car

I doubt Rossi has the time to gain the experience for, nor the FIA the inclination to give him, the necessary Superlicence required to race.

If Marc Gene got the drive, could it set him up for a driver role at the new Campos team, being Spanish and all?

How about Kubica? Given BMW's impending statement, they could hardly hold him to the contract!

I voted for DC as the most likely available candidate. He'd do a solid job.

Marc has declined an offer from Campos. The drivers will be De La Rosa and Sergio Perez (Mex). However with the anouncement of BMW quitting and rumours of Toyota following, I believe the Mexicain will lose his chance.

I voted for Marc Gene to reward him after so many years at Ferrari for his loyalty and good work. Although I'd love to see Alonso in the Ferrari, but can't happen.

I'd love to see Davidson race again. But its unlikely that Ferrari would pick him over their own testers and Brawn would not allow him to go and thereby take all their secrets.

For me Bourdais is the logical choice.
