Doctors have downgraded Felipe Massa's medical condition to 'serious' from 'critical' which of course is good news.

However, I am still rather concerned by several other comments. Firstly, it has been reported in several places that while he can move all his limbs and 'communicate actively' he is currently unable to speak. Secondly, there is now the suggestion the he may well have damage to his left eye.

It's very, very early, but I'm seriously starting to wonder if he'll actually ever get back in an F1 car. However, let's not jump to any silly conclusions and wait until he's brought fully off of sedation and had a few days to (hopefully) regain all his faculties.

Autosprout echo this, and confirm that the operation on Sunday afternoon wasn't merely corrective surgery, it was actually live-saving.

<yikes>

BBC are saying that his life is more secure but his racing career is very much unknown.

His left eye is damaged and it maybe too damaged to continue in F1 <no>

At least he's doing better. Good news.

It would be a shame not to have Massa in F1 any more. He was one of the good guys in the sport.

Bloody hell, the poor guy.

I don't want to speculate but for sure this looks worse than any of us ever thought possible on Saturday.

Get well soon Felipe
