They could have taken earned points. Alonso was on for a podium take away 6 WCC points and another 6 just to really screw them. |

True, but no more of a failure than Massa being released too early at Singapore, and we know the carnage that caused. But there was no penalty for Massa, other than a drive-through because he drove into the path of Sutil. I think Renault could have been docked WCC points for the next few races or something, banning them outright is both harsh and commercially very stupid. |

True, but in the past months stupidity and F1 have been hand in glove |

Massa didn't get a drive through at Valencia - he got a $10,000 fine. Lewis was the one who got a "retrospective" drive through after Spa which equals a 25 second penalty. As it turned out in Valencia, Massa was about 30 seconds ahead of Lewis so even if he'd been given a retrospective 25 seconds, he still would have won. |

Erm, I presume that's subtle sarcasm?

Notice I said Singapore, not Valencia. Massa was fined at Valencia when he was released into Sutil's path, but at Singapore the same thing happened and he got a drive-through. Mostly the incident escaped notice, of course, because Massa was dragging his fuel hose along at the time, |

Also Massa only finished around 10 seconds ahead of Hamilton - hence why the decision not to penalise was so controversial. Although as I recall, Massa did absolutely nothing wrong in that incident or the one in Singapore, so it should have been the team that recieved any penalty, not him. |

Valencia: only 30.000 tickets sold (of 75.000) Bernie -among others- will lose money. |

disagree with the last point ferrari above all teams (and Ferrari fans) have always claimed F1 is a team sport, that was the way they justified team orders to assist MS all the time So, you win as a team and you lose as a team, fair is fair. of course, there was a clear inconsistency in penalties last season, the only consistency being it played into Ferrari’s hands every time |

I'm saying that the team shoul have been fined or lost constructor's points instead. Considering how close he championship was, a single point would have made the difference and it would have been extremely harsh to lose on the basis of something he had no control over. |
