I guess if you shout lauda enough you get what you want.

There's nothing like a good pun ... and that was nothing like a good pun!

:-)

oh, ok, so it was quite a good one.

In the local language, the word lauda means the definitive male appendage.

if Schumi does return then I assume TPL will be sending Mr Lauda a sorry letter with lots of signatures on it

what was we saying about Nikki Lauda?

What, that he's a publicity-seeking loudmouth who would be best advised to carry on with the day job rather than meaninglessly speculating about Formula One?

Still true, even if he was right on this occasion.

Personally, I think a 3 time world champion and someone who had a hand in the early days of the GPDA deserves a little more respect then he gets on here

But when did achievements count for anything. I mean, at the end of the day we are keyboard warriors who have never sat in an f1 car so why should we listen to the opinions of a guy who won the odd race now and then and fought back from a life threatening crash even if he is 100% correct….

I’m sure Lauda has perhaps earned the right to a little press attention now and then….

Maybe so, but Lauda's comments in the last few years strike me more as a man who craves publicity rather than someone with anything profound or useful to say.

For example, in 2007 when Hamilton looked poised to win the world championship, Lauda was singing his praises, suggesting that he was the best driver since Senna and so on and so forth....

Then the following year, when it looked like Hamilton might not win the title, Lauda turns around and says how Hamilton was rubbish all along and was carried unfairly by his team.

Nobody can take Lauda's achievements in F1, and outside of it (particularly in aviation), away from him, but that doesn't mean he deserves our unconditional reverence every time he opens his mouth.
