Great job by McLaren today, they won the race by managing their tyres the best. That's exactly how Button won in Monaco, so all credit to McLaren for turning their fortunes around. I was initially a bit disappointed that it looked like Hamilton was going to win, as I'm not a fan of his, but then I remembered - this is exactly why I have him in my Fantasy F1 team. ![]() I imagine they will continue to struggle at higher-speed circuits, but they should be regular contenders for points at least. I wonder if they will switch focus to 2010 after this race, as they had previously threatened? On the others, terribly unlucky for Alonso as, given the way the race panned out, he could have salvaged some decent points today. Certainly he could have been in the hunt for P3 along with Webber, Rosberg and Kovalainen. I'm sure some will have taken a kind of perverse pleasure in seeing it all go wrong for him, but then I've been known to cheer at the misfortunes of my less favoured drivers too - so no complaints there! Brawn appear to really be struggling. If this was how they performed on a circuit that's supposed to suit them I dread to think what will happen when we hit the cooler venues in September. Well done to Raikkonen as well, a solid drive and a reasonable end to a sadly very difficult weekend for Ferrari. |

Yes Lewis helped my prediction league Shame about the rest Kimi drove the best i have seen since 2007. It presume it was because of the accident of Massa. Brawns were terrible and Button must be pretty pleased that Vettel did not finish. Well done Lewis very happy for him. Its great to see how him and his father have changed after spending time in a car that is not performing. I think it has been a good lession for both |

Yes, great race Lewis. Who'd have thought that Alonso on such a light fuel load was actually just one stopping. For all the Ferrari and Mclaren fans, I guess you are happy now that 'normal' service has been resumed despite all the whinging. I did enjoy this race though. Massa was missed. |

With a touch of humour he said that he was reserving all the good luck for the next year. BTW, great job by Macca and Hammy. |

At least we won't have to see Anthony skulking about looking like a bulldog licking pee off a thistle for a bit. It must be the first time he's smiled for the camera that he's always standing infront of for months. Still, here's the WUM factor.... where would Alonso have ended up on four wheels? I would suspect Hamilton would still have won, but I wasn't able to keep tabs on the the relative pace. |

After the race Alonso told that he expected a realistic 3rd or 4th place, not more. But I'd bet some money for a 2nd one. |

Excellent drive by Hamilton ![]() I expected him to go backwards after losing out to Webber just after the start but he drove beautifully thereafter, and it certainly seems as though McLaren are back in business, as Kovi looked good as well. Of the others, the Red Bulls were a little disappointing and Brawn were surprisingly nowhere. Kimi earned his corn yesterday with a superb performance. And yes, Massa was greatly missed. A difficult weekend for F1, with the news of Renault's banning for Valencia coming through. |

Thats the funniest thing I've read for a long time, Norbert! Flawless drive by Lewis for a well deserved win I'm not sure this means that McLaren are back right to the top of the grid, nor are Ferrari, for that matter, but, I'm pretty sure they're nearer the front end than before. We'll probably not see Lewis fighting for 15th spot in the coming races. |

Congratulation for a job well done for McLaren and Hamilton. I hope to see Hamilton at the font a bit more often so we can see his gorgeous girlfriend as much. It was good to see (for a moment) the "oldies" at the front. Looks like the grid is getting turned upside down. About time. I still think Renault will be there in Valencia but with a massive fine. The only thing that hasn't changed is inconsistency on applying rules.

Hooray for KERS-assisted starts and low speed corners. And excellent driving, of course. |

I think we're overlooking someone right now. I never used to be much of a fan, but I am a Williams fan and he's been putting in some solid if not overwhelming performances and picked up some good points for himself and the team. When I say not overwhelming I simply mean that he's gained more through strategy and attrition than actually fighting for places and over taking. Non the less, he's still teetering outside the podium. Not sure if they are up for a race win this season, but I'd like to see Rosberg on the podium at some point. |

I've been very critical of Rosberg before this season, suggesting his reputation was somewhat undeserved, but it's undeniable he has been impressive this season. As the Williams car has improved, so has he - and he is miles ahead of Nakajima, which couldn't be said about last season. |

McLaren v Ferrari is back. I thought Hamilton was excellent, Raikkonen's 2nd place was also a good drive, albeit I think Webber should have got 2nd. Brawn are miles off the pace - perhaps they should revert to the car they had three races ago, since Button said post-race that other had not improved that quickly and it was probably a case of the Brawns going backwards. Championship looks interesting now - I think Button would have taken the current situation had you offered it to him at the start of yesterday, but it is clear Brawn will have to really scrap for the title. Ironically, McLaren and Ferrari could conspire to save Brawn, by being faster than the Red Bulls in future races. The last race could theoretically see the title contenders scrapping desperately in the midfield for the 8th place they need to secure the championship. |

I think Red Bull still have the fastest car, we saw at Monaco that these slower circuits don't necessarily suit them but elsewhere they have proven to be the class of the field. There aren't any particularly slow circuits left on the calendar (except maybe Singapore) so I would imagine Red Bull will be fighting for the win more often than not. I can see Brawn reverting to Istanbul spec for the next few races as it's possible they have gone down a dodgy development path. Strange, as BAR and Honda were always quite good at developing their cars throughout the season. Maybe it's a money thing. |

Lewis did a hell of a job today, so did Kimi. Just shows that these guys don't forget how to driver well, they just need a decent car. It's a little late for Lewis to make a title push, but it will be good for him for next year. |
