Pre-empting the inevitable - and along with the theme of recent threads.

Given that however good he really is (under-rated or not) Vettel is "hot property" and will likely still be in that position come the end of the season.

Almost all comments in the "underrated" thread have aggreed "He'll probably get WDC, maybe multiples"

I believe he has a 2 year contract with Red Bull (I could be wrong). My question is:

Should he stay with Red Bull long term? Where else should he go? Who should be his teammate to fulfil his true potential?

Obviously this all assumes that FOTA & FIA pull their fingers out. Right now, I reckon he'd be better off going to Brawn to replace Barichello in 2011.

Stay... far too early to be thinking about changing teams...

also he has to consider which other drivers will be looking for new teams, Kubica for a start.

I'd like to see him and Hamilton at McLaren, but I feel Vettel will stay at RB for the time being. He probably thinks he has a slight edge on Webber in terms of pace and RB are currently competitive. I don't think Brawn would be his type of team, they would probably be built around Jenson by 2011 anyway and who knows whether they would even still be competitive?

I don't know really why he should leave Red Bull. I just have this gut feeling that Red Bull will never be absolute top performers. I think this season is a bit of a flash in the pan: They've been reasonably good in previous seasons, and now that Ferrari, McLaren, BMW and Renault have dropped the ball in the change to new regulations, they have emerged as the "2nd best team".

Perhaps it's because Red Bull only exist to sell drinks? Newey's designs are very good, but I just don't see that he has the team engineering to back that up so that they become a really dominant force. Will Red Bull ever be as dominant as Ferrari were in the early 2000s ?

Will they really be able to match this year again?

AND when are we likely to see the effect of the diffuser on the RBR. Hasn't it already been on the car for two races and yet it hasn't added (to any of the cars) any significant performance.

All the teams were screaming like it had given other teams and unfair advantage and yet no team has suddenly propelled to the front of the grid. Or am I missing something?

I think he will watch the situation at Ferrari closely. But if Alonso goes to Ferrari in 2011 then I doubt there will be any vacancies. Mclaren in 2011 maybe if they do well next season. Otherwise sticking with Red Bull could be the best option.
