Funny how we have gone through a period wher the sons/newphews of former GP drivers are in the sport so 'old names' are back (Hill, Rosberg, Piquet, Senna...) Now he have old name coming back... Brabham Lola, March (In an interview with Ross Brawn he revealed that he was going to enter as Tyrrell F1 before he settled on the eponymous Brawn GP |

It would be fantastic if both the Brabham and Lotus names were to return to F1. The picture in the link looks like it might be Kyalami 1983 - my favourite ever race in many respects. |

However, this Brabham is as much Brabham as Triumph is Triumph, Aston Martin is Aston Martin..... etc. Someone owns the name, and wants to use it because it is famous. Just like a MINI is not a Mini etc. Ross Brawn racing as Tyrrell would be equally as false, and to be honest I don't know why he even considered it. Granted, you could do the recursion from Honda to BAR Honda to Tyrrell, but in the same way, that does not make Renault the Toleman team via Benetton. Most of these new budget teams appear to be mates of Max feigning interest in order to try and scare FOTA into backing down. Sadly, Max will end up being beaten. Not for the first time. |

looks like they might not own the name either... its the Super Aguri team's purchaser trying to use the name but without talking to the family. |

I would not like the Brabham name to be resurrected, (especially as the cars were always entered as MRD anyway ... ) I would not want the name to be tarnished even more than it was in the 90's...
