FOTA teams in for "shock," says Pitpass

Basically the main thrust of this article is that FOTA's entries to the 2010 world championship are in all likelihood invalid. There is no such thing as a "conditional entry," so it could be the case that of the existing teams, only Ferrari and Williams will feature on the entry list that is published on June 12.

Well worth a read.

I already watch ALMS and WTCC (maybe not next season)... DTM is a no no (too many chiefs and not enough Indians)...

that leaves only the likes of NASCAR/IRL or Bikes... so Moto GP it is then <think>

MotoGP & WSBK are a good option, they're both having a cracking season so far <thumbsup>

I'd like to see BMW ditch WTCC and set up shop in DTM actually .... maybe another manufacturer as well, then it would be worth watching.

If everyone bar Williams and Ferrari are excluded in such fashion, and all these budget teams get the grid slots, then Max might as well pack up and go home, because F1 will go down the plughole, Bernie won't get any money, and if Bernie gets upset then people usually have a habit of becoming toasted. Bernie was quite happy to kick Max in the balls after DungeonGate (although in hindsight, Max would probably have enjoyed it <sick> ) and with Slavica rumoured to be entitled to half of Bernie's fortune, he won't enjoy it being further ruined by F1 become as desirable as a fart in a spacesuit.

How can Ferrari's entry be any more legal than the other Fota teams? They have joined with conditions exactly the same as them.
Regardless of the 2012 agreement Ferrari have signed with conditions, then that's as valid or invalid as all the other entries apart from Williams who bent over and took it like a new boy in maximum security.............or Max's tea parties <yikes>

Indeed, Max has already hinted that Ferrari's position effectively made any pre existing agreements null and void... beside which Ferrari have said they are firmly with FOTA so if the FIA play hard ball and exclude the other FOTA members, Ferrari has made it quite clear that the FIA also exclude Ferrari as well.

As I understand it Ferrari are the only team to have contractually committed to the world championship until 2012 .... the rest of the teams have signed a "Memorandum of Understanding" but Ferrari's contract is the only one that is legally binding. So regardless of whether Ferrari's entry at the moment is legal or not, if the FIA want them to participate in 2010 then they have to do so. The other FOTA teams are not in the same position, so if they do not enter they won't be accepted.

May be Max is out to settle some longstanding grudges. Then again, this is judt another internet generated story which may or may not be true. Lets not forget that pitpass is known for spreading the odd over-inflated rumour.

I'm sure McLaren have 'signed' up as part of the so called liegate penalty (or lack of)

It's certainly possible. If so, an F1 minus Renault, Toyota, Red Bull, BMW etc. would certainly be less damaging to the sport than an F1 minus all of those teams AND Ferrari and McLaren. I've argued in the past that there are too many manufacturers in F1 than can possibly be good for it, maybe this is the FIA's way of redressing the balance....
