In view of my previous topic as to why this forum is so ---- dead, and how to get things going, I was thinking of a contest.

Now Rob knows me under a different name whereunder I gave three prizes of which Rob won I think USD1,000. The second prize was USD500 or 300 - I can't remember but it was sent to Medicines Sans Frontiers or something like that. The third prize was never claimed, but I did send out via Western Union those funds.

Maybe we create a challenge and open it up to all the members to see who can get the most new members to sign up, and also who can also generate the most posts over a three week period.

In doing this I think we would need a single forum or topic within a forum. I am open to suggestions.

One special prize perhaps to whomsoever can find Papatangocharlie.

Just a thought, but I am willing to contribute the prizes and some ideas.

My email is gmp53@yahoo.com

There you go.

Best Regards
Greg

Did you do this perchance on BBC's 606 a couple of years back? Something about people having to write an article explaining why Michael Schumahcer was good for F1?

Was that you? There can't be too many people willing to give away thousands of dollars in pursuit of such whimsy.

It was no fake and I think it was Rob that won first prize.

Not that I am as rich as before, and we know the current economic climate. Today I am broke but give me a few weeks.

I am not committing just yet, but am throwing ideas out.

Maybe a couple of hundred for anyone who can find PapatangoCharlie. He was always fun. Scottish bloke and married a Greek woman. Today he probably eats nothing but lamb, fish and olives. Oh ya and feta cheese. Oregano on his scrambled eggs.

Maybe a few hundred for whoever starts a thread that gets at least 200 responses in two weeks, and must have at least 40 different posters. Please not ten new members posting - we gotta be honest here.

Maybe 200 to whoever can come up with a better name for me, and maybe a picture.

Maybe a big prize for whoever can get the most new members by season's end. Again must be honest.

I am open to ideas, but the most important is to bring new people to the forum, and to have fun.

By the way, who is Lewis? Oh Hamilton. Sometimes I am slow.

And the rest of the time I am even slower.

Ya. Why doesn't his nose get bigger when he lies? Possible answers:

He is not made of wood.

His father is not Guisepe (sp?).

His lawyers' noses get bigger, but they get paid really well.

Oooorrrr We could be nice. I have to work on that one.

Or we could do a Kimi thing.

How many watts does Kimi save each year by not moving his lips when he speaks?

Save me I am getting silly here. Bloody rum.

lol, if nothing else it shows how many of us here are refugees from the old BBC board. As well as those that have confessed confessed I believe that's where John was born.

Yeah Pasta, personal finance planning is not what it once was. You can loose you a**e and so can your clients. How about a name change..........Perhaps...Maurice?

OK getting to the bizarre about eating. If I have your email addresses, I can send you all photos of these Australians capturing a croc. Salt water and big. Then they skinned it and opened the tummy, and then laid out the human remains. An arm and a leg, and an extra hand plus some other unidentifiable bits.

Gosh Australians are wierd. The two guys are laughing and smiling.

On the morbid side (further?) I also have this video of an Indian guy on the roof of an electric train. I guess in seeking balance he grabbed the high tension wire, and created a mini lightening bolt.

Finally, and on a more positive note, I have this video of an adult cougar chasing a baby bear cub. Incredible footage, and I don't know how they got it. No deaths here, and it is something everyone who has seen it has agreed it is incredible footage.

If you email me, I can forward these to you. My email is gmp53 @ yahoo.com
