The remaining formula one teams, with the possible exception of Toyota, are expected to lodge their official entries for the 2010 world championship on Friday.

The registration period closes at 11.59pm on Friday night, but Ferrari, McLaren, BMW, Renault, Red Bull, Toro Rosso, Brawn and Force India are expected to deliver the paperwork to the FIA in a block FOTA package several hours earlier.

The news comes in the wake of multiple sources reporting that the standoff between the teams' association and the sport's ruling bodies is now over, with the proposed FOTA compromise accepted in principle by Max Mosley

Owners Toyota have decided to no longer host the Japanese grand prix at Fuji Speedway, the Asahi newspaper reported on Friday.

The circuit, located in the foothills of Mount Fuji west of Tokyo, hosted the country's 2007 and 2008 F1 races, and was due to return to the calendar in 2010.

This year, an annual alternating scheme with Suzuka commences.

The Asahi Shimbun said Toyota's decision was based on the need to cut costs, amid speculation the Japanese carmaker may not lodge an entry on Friday to enter its Cologne based team in the 2010 world championship.

Logically, yes.

but, Bernie is likely to figure that with no Japanese team on the grid, its not worth having a race in Japan and move it to some other exotic location, preferably on the streets, instead <doh>

To go from two GP circuits and 3 F1 teams to no representation at all would be a big blow...

I assume the Williams engine deal is still on... or are they going to go with Cosworth power like so many of the aspiring newcomers (save Dave Richards who is linked to a Mercedes deal)

Well they were supposed to be alternating so Suzuka should get the race back. As good as the last two races have been Fuji has nothing on Suzuka

Maybe Williams will have to get their engine from BMW

One of the 2010 entrants will prolly buy them out and whip everybody's asses like BGP are doing! They'll need new engines, of course.

All the current Formula 1 teams have submitted their entries to the FIA for the 2010 championship, FOTA confirmed on Friday.

The Formula One Teams' Association said, however, that their entries were conditional on a new Concorde Agreement being signed by all parties before 12th June.

"The renewal of the Concorde Agreement will provide security for the future of the sport by binding all parties in a formal relationship that will ensure stability via sound governance," said FOTA in a statement.

The teams' body also said that the entries were conditional on the regulations being based on 2009 rules, "identical for all competitors and amended in accordance with proposals that FOTA has submitted to the FIA."

Looks like they are ALL in for 2010 (incl. TOYOTA) but are still pressing that the entry is a formality and on the understanding that it is on their own terms....

It was hardly a credible source that reported the story anyway

And they never said Toyota weren't lodging an entry, they just said they MAY NOT

Much ado about nothing
