f*** Alonso! How much would they have to pay Kimi?
Doesn't he have a contract for 2010 already?
Both he and Massa have contracts for 2010, so I don't know where this b*ll*cks about Alonso to Ferrari comes from, unless Kimi has agreed to retire in 2011, in which case Massa and Alonso are going to have to be friends...
The story as I have heard it is that Alonso has a contract in place to drive for Ferrari in 2011, with an option for 2010 if Kimi underperforms. So far, however, Kimi has done pretty much all that can be expected of him in the Ferrari (ice creams excepted), so if he keeps it up then Fernando will have to wait another year.

I thought Barrichello did a solid job as Ferrari number 2. But he never replicated his form at Honda. For the past 3 years Jenson outshone him and continues to do so. Looking at race results I believe the tally this year is 6-0 in Button's favour. Barrichello has been past his best for some time and was only kept on this year because no other proven driver was available. For next year Brawn will have various options. I'm going to say Rosberg.
Jenson certainly didn't outshine Rubens in 2008

As far as Alonso is concerned, he is making the noises about wanting to go to Ferrari. Question is, will they want him? At this rate, with Raikkonen back on form and nothing to choose between him and Massa, they may decide it's not worth breaking the harmony of the team for a possibly faster driver.

Don't forget the little spat that Alonso and Massa had just before going onto the podium in 2006.
I wonder if Massa's deliberately making Kimi look good, to keep Alonso out...
As for Kimi being unmotivated

"I wasn't too happy with the third place at the Monaco GP. For sure it was the best result of the last times, but that was nothing new to me and we knew that we could arrive on a place on the top," said Raikkonen.
"When the leaders in the championship are so far ahead in the classification, in the end it's only a victory that counts. Being back on the podium is a nice reward for the whole team. The hard work of the last weeks finally bears some fruit, which is really positive for all of us.
"We know that we're on the right way now: there are still some minor things to be done but sooner or later we will win.
"We'll show up with further improvements of the F60 in the upcoming races and we hope we can then challenge the leaders even more, in the qualifying and in the race." What more do you want? He missed pole by 25 thousandths of a second and got Ferrari's first podium of the season and it 'wasn't good enough' for him.

There is a difference with being displeased with the result and actually buckling down and working even harder to improve for next time. Then again, may be Kimi mean's it this time.

If missing pole by the fraction of a second and getting a podium isn't buckling down and working harder, then I don't know what is.
Anyway, an unmotovated person would be happy with third, especially when so far behind the others.
I wonder what EJ has to say about Kimi now.

I agree, Kimi's not necessarily suffering from a lack of motivation.
The reason he hasn't convincingly outperformed Massa in so long is down to ability.

Steady, don't shatter the illusion.

OK, may be motivation is the wrong work. Kimi does have a rep for being a tad work shy compared to other drivers.
