I think that is correct. So when do they weigh the non-Q3 cars to get the figure they reported? I guess that is the real question. Nobody would run with Glocks fuel level in quali, so they must weigh the last 10 with race fuels added in parc ferme. I really hate to go read the freaking rules again................... It gives me a headache! |

that thought just went through my mind as I read about the gearbox change. Or in the FIA sanitised world, do they have to stay with the agreed fuel-load. Wouldn't want them to be caught cheating now would we...

Only the cars that make qualifying three are weighed. Cars that do not make the the third qualfying session may add as much fuel as they wish. The cars outside of the top ten are not weighed officially. The weights published are the teams declared weights. It even tells you this in the list |

Aren't cars starting from the pits effectively exempt from Parc Ferme? After all, you aren't allowed to leave until the last car has passed the end of pit lane line, IIRC, so there's no real advantage to it. |

and when do they get there hands on Hamilton's car to fix it and what are the rules with the fixing? will he have to start from the pit lane or take his place on the grid? Mark |

Genuine damage can be repaired under Parc Ferme without requiring a pit lane start. I think it's the fact that the gearbox had to be replaced which has caused Hamilton to start from the pits. After all, five places off of 16th is last anyway.... |
