I've developed a way to counteract the apparent pervitude of such things. All I need to do is wear sunglasses. Nobody can see where you're looking with sunglasses!

<flirt>

See!

No it wasn't.

It was great. No lessons, no sitting in classrooms. Outside in the sunshine playing sports and having sporting competition

(and a classic chance to show off to the ladies) fantastic

Being forced to take part in athletic events which you are no good at, and forced to do it in front of the entire school, such that when you come in dead last, as expected, the entire school population of 700+ students are all there laughing at you, which makes you feel worse and more upset than you normally feel as you're one of the more unpopular/uncool kids, with little support from the teachers to get you through this incredibly difficult, school endorsed embarrassment.

Yes - fun days indeed. <sarcasm>

But people like me had to put up with being intellectually inferior every other school day of the year. Apart from Electronics I never really excelled at anything although my grades were all decent, but there was no girls in the Electronics group so Sports day and PE was the only chance we had to beat the smart kids…

Other end of the spectrum perhaps?

Ah, but I bet you were never made to answer maths questions in front of the entire school, knowing if you got it wrong, everybody would laugh at you and take the piss and make you feel like shit.

You could have always refused to compete? That was an option at my school although if you did not compete you had to bring drinks etc out to all the parents

I know what you mean, LT. I had friends at school who hated sport, like you, and for much the same reasons. We were fortunate in that the weather in SA is mostly fantastic, so even if you weren't that good at any of the events it was very pleasant getting out anyway.

And I think stradlin has got it spot on - the less academically inclined folk had their noses rubbed in it too often by poor teachers. The better teachers managed the weaker kids far more effectively, in my experience.

ready for some seriously stomach churning, penis shrivelling and general ankle tinglingly horrible news?

One of my friends was in her garden the other day wandering down to the shed..

Well, the grass as wet and slippery and as she walked she slipped. Except as her one leg went forwards, closely followed by her body, her other foot stubbornly refused to go along with the whole gravity thang and decided to stay stuck in one position resulting in a hideous fracture (like a hinge job across the middle <sick> ) dislocated ankle and now she is currently laid up in hospital unable to move as the swelling is so severe, they can't operate until it's subsided. Remember Eueun Evans when he dislocated his ankle? It was something like that <sick>

When her hubby told me it was like.......... byearrrrrrrrueeeyaghhhh

*shudders*

So, good job you're on the mend Ford <kiss>
