It would be truly random if they decided to inspect the Honda engines <roflmao>
<peek>

They might want to just out of morbid curiosity <roflmao>

Or if they had a sense of humour even.
<roflmao>

It'd probably be more of an autopsy than an inspection <roflmao>

and pointless considering development is forbidden.

In this case they will be looking for de-development <roflmao>

TCG, please don't hurt us <yikes>

Jokes aside, it is very odd that the FIA claim that they are going to be strict about checking engines yet in the last 9 months they have only inspected one engine and only have one other planned so far. I wonder if it has only been triggered by Renault's recent bleating about permitted engine development and suggestions of slight of hand by engine designers.

They've inspected it and found it ok.

The FIA has given the Ferrari engine of Felipe Massa the all-clear, following a routine inspection prior to the Italian Grand Prix.

A series of tests on all the manufacturers' engines begun to ensure that the power units being used are in conformity with those homologated with the governing body prior to the start of the season.

The Mercedes-Benz engine from Lewis Hamilton's car in Hockenheim was the first to be checked, with Massa's Ferrari power unit chosen for examination after Belgium.

FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer confirmed ahead of the Monza weekend that the engine complied with F1's technical regulations, and parts in it had no disparity from those already homologated.

They've "randomly" Selected the engines of top 2 drivers in the WDC?  <think>

It's a random number generator that is designed to produce all integers between 1 and 23 inclusive, but always spits out 2 or 22 <think>

M-maybe it's g-got a randon st-st-stut-t-s-t-stutter?

Oh, and don't forget that it won't be a random integer between 1 and 23, as inspecting the engines from cars 13, 18 and 19 might prove tricky.....
