today almost made me want to watch Monza, such was the action between championship contenders but yes, once again f1 is doing all it can to drive away fans |

I have to agree with Stradlin, this penalty is even more farcical than the one Alonso got in Monza in 2006. This quote from Ron Dennis is particularly interesting: "First of all we don't know what the investigation is about. One assumes it was the incident between Kimi and Lewis at the chicane. First of all, Lewis was ahead at the chicane and he got pushed wide. He definitely was in the lead coming out of the chicane, we immediately radioed him to let Kimi past. We let Kimi past and then overtook him again before the line. Inevitably, we wanted to know whether we had actually, that was deemed to be a correction of that, and we checked with Charlie [Whiting, Race Director], of course Charlie can only give an opinion, he's not the stewards, but he gave an opinion that we had complied properly to the regulations. I would even dispute that there was any fault because we had the corner in the chicane, but even if we didn't have the corner we let Kimi back in the lead." So Charlie Whiting thought it was legal |

the Alonso one at Monza was a shambles but I was willing to let it go as a 'one off' how foolish I was! Whiting was fine with it, everyone was fine it, apart from Ferrari and Ferrari's own stewards it really makes me think something is going on |

Maybe they don't like good races, maybe they don't like Mclaren, Maybe they don't like the fans. However you look at it that decision has smeared brown smelly stuff right across F1 and ruined what was in fact a really entertaining race. |

WHAT THE BLOODY BOLLOCKING CRAP IS THIS??? HAMILTON LET KIMI THROUGH AFTER THE CHICANE! RAIKKONEN CRASHED ANYWAY, SO WHAT IS THE POINT?!?!?!? Come on, those that believe there is no conspiracy. Where is your defence now? |

This is it isn't it, no matter how you look at it, Lewis let Kimi back, he rescinded any positional advantage as was expected. No one is complaining that Lewis went into the chicane ahead but was effectively forced to miss the chicane. (although that is obviously debatable) |

Hammy was lucky he only got the -25 sec penalty. I had a quid on DQ and 10 place drop for monza and the odds where low |

Hamilton gained momentum by cutting the chicane to create the passing oppurtunity. A penalty was right although im surprised it was handed out as Kimi retired. |

What did I say earlier? That Hamilton barely ceded the place back? Like I posted on the Beeb, the investigation is dubious but he really should have waited until after La Source and taken Kimi into Les Combe. It was inevitable that he'd pass Kimi, and sadly rather inevitable that this would be the outcome. For what it's worth, I think the penalty is ridiculous and I'd be amazed if McLaren didn't appeal. However, let's not blur things: the race stewards at each meeting are not FIA stewards before we go through all the FIAt crap again. |

So if you rob someone, but they drop dead later, you didn't commit a crime? I'm not convinced Hamilton did anything particularly wrong, but if he's been judged to have done so, you can't forget the penalty because the alleged victim isn't around to complain. |
