Official word is 25 second penalty which hands the win to Massa and 2nd to Heidfeld

After the rather meak punishment handed out to Massa after the last race this decision is somewhat crazy I feel.

McLaren must be appealing over this.

the "incident" at the chicane

Yeah that's what I heard too.

So people are no longer allowed to race anymore.

This is madness.

it's beyond that mate

it's completley disgraceful and too an outsider makes F1 look like a total shambles

i can only presume that Kimi will be given some sort of penalty for the massive advantage he gained by running wide later in the lap AND trying to punt hamilton off at the hairpin

in contrast with Massa's pocket money fine at Valencia that is ridicolous, i'm sorry but the only the conclusion has to be is that is it's it's anyone else but Ferrari it's a penalty

Brundle's words earlier in this season have come back to haunt us again

"if it's a McLaren, it's a penalty"

what a mockery, what a joke of championship this now is

A little dubious I feel. Hamilton did let Raikkonen back past - he was completely behind Kimi. In any case, Kimi crashed out so it's not as if it affected the result in any meaningful way.

Unnecessary tinkering with the championship, if Massa wins the title by less than 6 points now, it will be a little bit tainted.

It's not as if Hamilton willingly took that shortcut. It was wet....the guys were racing as well as they could. So I guess no risks should be taken when it comes to overtaking in the future. Don't bother with the racing guys!

beyond what I think about the motives behind this penalty...

a good day for f1 (a decent race) has turned into a complete joke

once again F1 has managed to f**k up something good

Taken from 606 on BBC:

"Hamilton was forced off the track by Rosberg. Managed to avoid Raikkonen but passed him illegally but gave the lead back to Raikkonen and then Lewis passed him again, then Kimi passed him and then spun giving Hamilton the lead and then Kimi crashed. OUTRAGOUS DECISION"

Sound about right?

I imagine McLaren will appeal this decision, and if the stewards have any sense they will uphold the appeal .... it may not be over yet.

I nearly gave up after france. I considered it after the valencia stewards went easy on massa. Now i'm giving up. I will not watch another f1 race for the forseeable future. I have finished.
