He has only managed to start on the front row of the grid in four out of 12 races while he's been on the third row in two of the last three.

"What's happened has happened, there's no use crying about it," he said ahead of next weekend's Belgian GP.

"We'll go there next weekend. I love that circuit, I'd love to race there all year long.

"It's the best of them all and I hope to have a good car there. I'll do my best to win there once again.

"If anyone doubts my motivation they can be sure of this: I want to win, now more than ever."

Raikkonen has already won three times at Spa, twice for McLaren and then again last year with Ferrari.

However, he has had problems on the four street circuits on this season's calender.

"It does seem that the street circuits haven't been favourable to me. In four races I've only claimed one point, in Melbourne, in a race I didn't manage to finish because of an engine failure.

"Then there was the incident with (Adrian) Sutil in Monaco and Hamilton crashing into me at the exit to the pit lane in Montreal.

"And now the latest retirement in Valencia."

But Raikkonen has also struggled badly in qualifying, claiming a front row position in only a third of the races.

"The truth is in a couple of races (Hungary and Germany) I made some mistakes that relegated me to sixth place while in Valencia I missed out on third place by a hair's breadth," he admitted.

At last he has shown he is feeling the heat a bit, whether this is enough to reignite his WDC campaign remains to be seen.

Maybe he just needed to kick his own ass to get in gear. Be intresting to see how he does vs. Massa at Spa.

Spa will be the ultimate test for Kimi. Nobody other than him has won there since 2002. If he can't win there next weekend, or at least beat Massa, his season will basically be over.

He's had trouble at street circuits? Then how does he explain Silverstone and Hungary?

He can say that he is motivated until he is blue in the face but, for some reason, I'm not convinced. Even last year he didn't look too happy at the start of the year. I suspect that the ferrari experience isn't as enjoyable as he thought it would be or he is missing Ron. May be Ferrari don't get the vodkas in.

The fact that he was so eager to jump Kovi in the pits on Sunday that he pulled away before the fuel nozzle was removed indicates to me that he's motivated.

I don't think that was so much motivation as desperation. Motivation promotes hard work, not recklessness.

For example, it wasn't motivation that caused Hamilton's pit debacle at Montreal, it was his annoyance at being overtaken in the pits and resulting desperation that caused him to clumsily blunder (though a lack of attentiveness) into the back of kimi.

I genuinely think he wants to win, it is just that Massa is having the better of him at present. Raikkonen has always been aloof, so I wouldn't read anything into his laid-back attitude.

By the way no idea what dazzerjp is trying to suggest by posting a picture of a wooden foot. :s

Perhaps that that is the relationship kimi currently has with his foot pedals.

<roflmao>

When hammy crashed into kimi in Canada, Kimi said Hammy had a wooden eye.

After Valencia and the pit lane incident, Kimi has a wooden foot
