I think it made a nice change. Most of the grid girls just stand around looking annoying and posing in front of the camera - at least the fellas weren't sticking their tongue out at the camera and generally acting like they are 15. <think>

Before people ask, no, I am not gay. <roflmao>

why was it necessary to say that?

Because some people might make the assumption that I am based on the fact I approved of the grid boys.

I thought grid boys were the least-worst thing to be honest. A very dull race. The track looks nice from above with a helecopter but in terms of overtaking opportunity the layout is poor.

The layout seems fine for overtaking, it was just that no-one got close enough to do it.

well my wife loves watching soccer because of the mens legs, I watch soccer too, but I don't think anyone would consider me gay for doing so......

anyway, CBoi is right, worst thing about the race was total lack of over taking.

Don't over do it, just because someone says they are not gay because they made a statement that would make a normal bloke (gay straight, max mosely) wonder if he was or not, is not a crime.

Had he said he ate two Sunday dinners today but is not fat, is that discrimination of all overweight people? Or if a gay bloke said a woman looked hot but he wasn't straight would you and your wife be offended?

Any way bollocks to that PC bullshit

Once again ITV scraped the barrel for excuses as to why the pussy cat dolls boyfriend didn't win.

I really liked the "he matched Massa in qualifying as he did 2 more laps in the race".

I guess being second on the grid is matching Massa and Ferrari and Mclaren let ITV know that Both Massa and Lewis were running on empty on their first stops.

Then i thought they and his fans would wet themselves with glee at the thought that Lewis would get this win handed to him coming just after a Mechanical breakdown in the last few laps handed Lewis his last win.

I doubt 2 more laps' worth of fuel was enough to account for a gap of two tenths, so ITV were likely factually incorrect as well as scraping the barrel.

The fact is Hamilton had the pace today (although Massa's fastest lap was slightly quicker - around a tenth), but not the consistency. He had some scruffy laps, Massa didn't. Whether that was because Hamilton was over-driving a slower car to try and keep up or because of a genuine performance disadvantage is up for debate. However Felipe was over a second per lap quicker than Kimi in clear air, so maybe Massa just had the measure of everyone else.

Incidentally SS, the topic is about the grid boys, not the race, so actually we are the ones going off topic. <think>

I thought the thread said worst part of today's race?

My thoughts of the worst part of the today's race, apart from the dull race itself, was once again the ITV commentary which thankfully because i was fast forwarding the dullest laps i didn't get to hear the whole ass kissing script.

I didn't even know they had grid boys as i fast forwarded past that and many other parts. I didn't even know they had any until i read the post.

In answer to the post, its a meaningless distraction from a dull track.

Maybe as it took 14 months to build, they might spend the next 12 months adjusting the track so its worth watching the race!

But back to meaningless distraction, even the so called pit babes this weekend were not worth pausing for as they were either size zero emancipated skeletons they banned from cat walks, or they were fat thighed spotty mingers in mini skirts with heavy make up to cover all their skin conditions.
Or was I looking at the pit boys the original post mentioned <yikes>

umm, shurely shome mishtake! In Lewis's last 2 wins he won outright. The last race, Massa's car gave out but Lewis had already had a puncture so could only make 5th. Kovalainen benefitted from the Ferrari blow-up.

soo.. <topic>

I thought the worst bit was the obvious 'grinning girl to the right of the action' longshots when they showed the bridge. It was a different girl everytime they showed that particular angle, and none of them were really attractive!

Hay leetle girl, you wanna be ona TV?

<rolleyes>

Yeah, but can't really blame them, that was obviously their backup strategy if the race turned out to be mind numbingly dull.

I was away over the weekend, only just seen the race. Must've fast-forwarded thru the pit boys as I didn't notice them but in principle I am not in favour. It may well be sexist but I'm ok with that.

For me the worst thing about the race was that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach as I again watched Kimi have yet another utterly second rate race.

This next may be in the wrong thread (the other one is so full of shit I couldn't be bothered to read it any further) but Massa should have had a penalty imo. Granted it wasn't his fault but he *was* released unsafely.

Ferrari continue to mis-manage their strategy, and now their pitstops. It was bad management to end up with a heavily fuelled Massa coming out directly in front of Kimi at a time when Kimi needed to put in fast laps if he was to stand any chance of overhauling Heikki.

Think it's time they got a different guy to call the race strategy.

On the plus side Williams did better than they have done of late so I shall console myself with that. The road back to World Domination starts here!
