Should be an interesting race, even though its hard to tell true speeds from a Friday practice. I'm still hoping for a weird result

Alonso will probably go out on fumes again tomorrow morning in practice to please the fans. Unlike the last Spanish GP, Renault could be confident of a decent-ish result here so might not want to compromise Fernando too much with a glory run for pole in qualifying. |

I noticed Lewis was using hard tyres for a lot of the second session... no doubt he'll pop the softs on for the end of Q3 and get pole if not verrry close to it. Kimi was happy to use his softs, no doubt confident that they will last well into Q3 and beyond. |

Qualifying looks set to be very close. One or two tenths could mean losing three or four places on the grid. It's going to be interesting. |

If Alonso's on fumes, he's in trouble! ![]() The report from Autosport says he ruined his own fast lap by locking his wheels, however. Only practice, but STR have looked strong throughout - can they at least keep ahead of Red Bull in the race? |
