A bit like parking infront of your teammate in quali, you mean?

To be fair, McLaren got punished by the hungarian stewards for that. They got their WCC points deducted for that race, though technically it wouldn't have made a difference because they were DQ'd from the WCC anyway.

Back on topic, I think Ferrari do have a number 1 and a number 2 driver and it's reflected in their relatively salaries.

Problem is he's currently not as fast as the number 2, not even fast enought to impose team orders without it looking really stupid.

Won't they let them race until one has no chance of winning, like they did last year?

#1 was quite a bit faster than #2 at Sliverstone (as was just about every other car on the track) and is ahead of #2 in the championship, despite quite a lot of bad luck, so I don't know where the impression that #2 is faster comes from.

But hey, #1 is never going to satisfy the 'we miss Schumi and hate his replacement' crowd, so why bother? <hitwall>

I seem to remember Barichello being the fastest in the wet at Silverstone. Also, as I recall, of the inters runners, Lewis was 6 seconds a lap faster than his nearest rivals mid way through the race.

Anyway, I think it is a bit of a red herring to compare Massa and Kimi at Silverstone. Massa had a poor weekend and suffered because his car woul spin at the drop of a hat. Also, didn't he have is car wrecked on the Friday after he went off on oil, which would have harmed his set up time? Not exactly ideal preparation for a GP.

If it's a Red Herring to compare Massa to Kimi at Silverstone, then why is it OK to compare them at any other race? There are always extenuating circumstances and for the record Kimi was catching Lewis just before the stop where his worn tyres were left on and saying the Barichello was fastest is a bit facetious, considering he gambled on full wets.

Can I just say as a Massa fan how very, very much I enjoy the fact that he is being referred to as a number 2 driver...... <think>

Secondly, Silverstone was a one-off, as Kimi's race at Monaco was. As for bad luck, I'd venture that Massa has lost more or less the same amount of points due to circumstance as Kimi has this year. Yes, Kimi lost potentially 10 at Canada and then lost 2 at France, but Massa would have scored 3 had he made it to the finish in Australia, where his engine blew, and 10 in Hungary where again his engine blew.

To use your terms, '#2' has been faster at the last few races since Magny-Cours, which I think is what TCG was getting after.

Because there haven't been extenuating circumstances at the recent races. If Kimi qualifies badly and suffers because of it in the race (such as through being held up by Alonso), too bad. That's his problem and he will just have to do better in quali if he wants to establish primacy at Ferrari.

By the way, I'm not making excuses for Massa's performance at Silverstone, and nor is any other Massa fan; I think we all acknowledge he had an off day there, but even Hakkinen and Schumacher had some days where they disappeared off the radar completely.

exactly,

if you qualify badly because you are not up to scratch, tough cheese buddy. Quallie is an integral part of the GP weekend.

A bit like parking infront of your teammate in quali, you mean?

Or deliberately parking it on the track and ending the session whilst knowing you have the best time?

That did great for the F1 image didn’t it?

Win at all costs, it doesn’t matter how much you cheat and humiliate people, even if it’s within their own team

Wasn't that the mantra for McLaren last year? <whistle>

Now, wasn't you discussing how Ferrari are to blame for their recent rubbishness and comical blow ups?

I find it quite easy to lecture on a number of subjects since I know a lot and have a wonderful speaking voice.

I didn't put him there, but I cannot deny there are enough dumb asses that did vote for him, but I cannot feel to bad since you did have Tony Blair, not to mention someone in your country decided James Allen was the best candidate for his job.

I wouldn't exactly call Ferrari rubbish, leading the WCC and 2nd and 3rd in the WDC.

The season is not over, Ferrari haven't lost anything yet. They have had some issues with engines, but that's life sometimes. We'll just have to wait to see at then end of the season to see who is smiling the biggest.

Nice to see Hill asserting himself.

The day the cheat was truly born!

Although his team was cheating all through the season so it’s hardly surprising it rubbed on Scumacher

Pure scum

I'm tempted to add that to my signature! <roflmao> <roflmao>
