Link BMW and Honda have had some weight taken off before the Pau round. N-Technology were very unhappy at not having a weight break in their first round and of course the diesel vs petrol row has led to a rev limit on the SEAT and now a weight break. |

WTCC is dead in the water... or dying slowly Honda have had one race... how the hell can the TCB decide that the Honda has been disadvantaged… I am a fan of racing Diesels, just nota fan of the unfair advantage they have been given… but this is all getting a little stupid, even as BMW fan I can see this move is shambolic… maybe it is just not possible to race derv and petrol together… BMW won it’s class in the recent 24hr race in the S2000 spec 320d, but I am still unsure if BMW will bring it to WTCC, especially not for this season anyway. Seat will moan… or walk away… BMW have been making similar gestures So long WTCC nice while it lasted Roll on ALMS next season...

Surely all cars of the same engine type, chassis layout and drivetrain ought to have the same minimum weight, and that be that. Bugger about with the pathetic success ballast junk which penalises decent drivers and decent teams, but everyone running to an identical spec should start with an identical weight otherwise it's simply not fair. I'm not familiar with the cars, but surely if two manufacturers build a front engined, front wheel drive car with a petrol engine, then they should be regulated to the same weight. Maybe there would be a different weight if they used a diesel, but that's it. It sounds like every car in the series is treated individually, which is never going to please a manufacturer based series. The implication is that if you build a crap car, they'll let you run it lighter so you can catch up....! |

... the back of Gené & Monteiro's car has a sticker... "Caution Heavy Car" - Seat understandably are not happy about the weight changes... but the Seat still toped a very wet morning practice...
