A number of the auto clubs have sent a letter to Max calling on him to quit. It seems he turned down an earlier deal to resign in November in exchange for winning the vote in June. the clubs calling for the resignation are... America (AAA and AATA), Austria (OEMTC), Belgium (TCB), Brazil (CCB), Canada (CAA), Denmark (FDM), Finland, (AL), France (FFA), Germany (ADAC), Hungary (MAK), India (FIAA), Israel (MEMSI), Japan (JAF), Singapore (AAS), Spain (RACC and RACE), Sweden (M), Switzerland (TCS) and the Netherlands (KNAC) - some VERY powerful clubs, but I notice the UK clubs aren't there. http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news;_ylt=A...ov=st&type=lgns This is either his death-toll or else he feels he has the votes in hand to ignore these guys. Can't tell. |

Gotta be a death toll. Why would some one stay in a position when NO ONE wants him there. |

I'm hoping that this is enough of a sign that Mosley will go but he seems to be so slippery that he might just get away with it and hang onto his job until the end of his term. |

That is odd, unless they are remaining impartial until the vote. I wouldn't take the absense of any clubs as an endorsement of Mosley, more a sign of keeping their decision private. |

The Russians want him out too. Still isn't enough to force him out though. The UK clubs are probably holding fire because of the situation with Silverstone and the fear of retaliation if they come out against Max and as is likely he wins the vote. These other clubs must not fear this in the same way. |

1. It is some not all clubs... 2. Even if it was all clubs, which it isn't, they make up only 25% of the votes... 3. Some of those 'some' have ulterior motives and had already formed their own alliance outside of the FIA well before this witch hunt began. |

One thing to note is that although several organisations have come out calling for Mosley to resign, I can't recall hearing from anyone declaring their support for Max to stay on as President. All we have to go on is Max's word that he has considerable support within the FIA General Assembly. |

Why did they do this? Surely Max has to take some responsiblity if his leadership is making some members so unhappy that they are forming their own group. Is his own ego worth causing the FIA to split into two? |

Some of the clubs like the ADAC have for a long time have wanted to brake away fro the FIA... this has nothing to do with it's leadership... in a poll of all the clubs by the FIA the ADAC and some of the other signatories to thie letter mentioned above expressed that they found being part of the FIA less important to their business... and that he never or rarely use FIA acreditation on official documentation... All this witch hunt provides is a trojen horse for them to suit their own adgenda... A lot of people are counting their chickens on here... which I find amusing I will for the record say again where I stand on this... I do believe MM should not be FIA president... not because of what the NOTW rag printed... but because of his record... However I'd rather see him stay on until 2009 than let scum like the tabloids win...

The ideal would be Max losing the vote and the NOTW losing the court case. That way they both lose. |

To me the NOTW thing is a means to an end. As much as I detest their invasion of privacy attitude, the motorsport authorities weren't exactly making a fist of tidying up their shop. Something needed to do. |

Yes... maybe ... except of course that MM (Megalomaniac Murdoch) has monitary contingencies for loosing court cases of this nature... (they thrive of smeering people and just paying up... damage is still done) ...so IMO... Max loosing a VoC is the same as the NOTW winning regardless of any legal battle
