Toro Rosso co-owner and former Grand Prix winner Gerhard Berger has emerged as a leading candidate to succeed Max Mosley as FIA President. That is the claim of two highly respected Formula One correspondents, Edward Gorman and Kevin Eason, who write for the British newspaper The Times. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/28052008/13/...sley-s-job.html |

It will be interesting to see what he reveals in his forthcoming autobiography I think how he fixed it with Berni to ensure a F1 had a German WDC will be particularly damming....

Only if he's dumb enough to publish something that could get him brought up on legal charges. |

I'm not thrilled with the latest choices for suceeding Max. Neither Prost or Berger really command any respect by the associations nor probably in any of the other series. I also can't see them sucessfully standing up to anyone. They talk a lot in public but that means nothing behind close doors. Sadly, there are too few possibllities that have the personality, the potential support and the strength to stand up that could do the job and not have 'ties' that might lead to complaints about favoritism. |
