I agree entirely and I agree that probably Kimi's shunt was avoidable, he did well to contain the car as much as he did but the ultimate contact was unavoidable. Still racing incident and very dissapointing for FI/sutil as the stats won't show what they achieved today. |

What else could Kimi have done? He lost control over braking, in that situation you can't bring the car to a halt. He couldn't have not hit Sutil. |

Once he lost control there was nothing he could do to avoid Sutil, in fact he did well not to spear into one of the walls and potentially make the accident much worse. But he did lose control in an area that the four cars ahead of him had passed without any problems, and the error he made could certainly have been avoided. |

The stewards have decided to take no action on the Raikkonen/Sutil collision: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/67754 A ludicrous decision IMO, if it had been anyone else they would have been hit with a grid penalty. |

its not as if he tried an ambitious overtaking manouver and failed, to me it looked like he touched a wet patch and snatched the breaks, loosing control and hitting sutil. Considering some of the other incidents this season that have not been hit with penalties i don't see how this one can be. Just a thought would the reaction be so strong if it had been someone expected to be in the top 8 that raikonnen had hit and not someone punching above his weight. |

I agree with what you say about the incident completely. The question is, did Fisi get penalised when he ploughed into the back of Nakajima? I think he did didn't he? Can't remember. I don't think that was really his (fisi's) fault, maybe a misjudged braking zone but not an overtaking attempt. At least not a conventional one. Same for Kimi, but, he ruined someone elses race. It's racing incident, so who makes the call. |

Yes, and he managed to avoid crashing in the same place that Lewis, Nico, DC, Alonso (2 WDC's), Glock, etc, etc crashed or made an error. Why should he get a grid penalty and all the others not? |

Because his error happened to ruin somebody else's race. Lewis, Nico, DC, Alonso (2 WDC's), Glock, etc, etc did not. |

Alonso's error actually probably shafted Heidfeld out of some points given that his lap times took a nosedive thereafter, and the contact itself was avoidable, unlike Kimi's. I don't think Kimi should get a penalty, but maybe a cheque from Ferrari to Force India is in order as some sort of compensation. |

I certainly wouldn't have protested if he had got one; it was a ridiculous move. He mistimed his braking and ploughed into the back of another car....sound familiar? |

and yes it does sound familiar and i dont think either deserve penalties, as neither driver was attempting a rediculous overtaking manouver, they just got it wrong by accident. |
