According to ITV, hitting the barrier was the best thing for Lewis this race. I guess it must be important, considering they've mentioned it about 20 times this race! |

seems like button was the punching bag today. Kova and nakajima causing him problems and both go on to score points. Atleast one deserved a stewards inquiry. ![]() Poor sutil. |

That was better than every one of this year's races combined. Thank goodness. Anyway, award time: The Mark Webber Award for Crushingly Bad Luck goes, of course, to Adrian Sutil, who drove fantastically to get into fourth before being rammed out of the race by Kimi Raikkonen. It's no consolation, of course, but pretty much everybody must be feeling very sorry for Sutil right now. Today he showed he does have what it takes to compete with the best, even if he is very inconsistent at the moment. The Kazuki Nakajima Award for "No Ifs, No Buts, Get to the Back of the Grid for the Next Race, You Silly, Silly Boy" goes to Kimi Raikkonen, who deserves at least a five-place grid penalty for ramming into the back of Sutil. The conditions weren't perfect, admittedly, but every driver ahead of Kimi had managed to negotiate that piece of track successfully, and really we should expect better from the world champion. The Michael Schumacher Award for "This is What Happens When You Follow David Coulthard Too Closely" goes to Sebastien Bourdais, for spectacularly following David Coulthard off the road and crashing in the early stages of the race. Considering Alonso had just gone off there, too, methinks the conditions were somewhat treacherous around there. More care next time please, Sebastien. The Nico Rosberg Award for the Result Failing to Justify the Performance goes to Lewis Hamilton, who would easily have won by 45-50 seconds if not for the late safety car. Although he was lucky to some extent with his pit stop coinciding with the wet/dry tyre changeover period, he put in the fast laps when it mattered and comfortably claimed victory. Well done Lewis. Driver of the Day was quite obviously Sutil, although an honourable mention must go to Rubens Barrichello for a fine sixth place, finally managing to get the points he deserved after outperforming Button yet again this weekend. |

sorry but as a Button fan I can't let that go. Button didn't have the greatest of races and Barrichello thoroughly deserves his points, but Buttons race was pretty much ruined by Nakajima, though Button could have been a little over ambitious, Rosberg, for sneaking through with Massa and then allowing Massa to pass by missing a turn thus keeping momentum and not allowing Button to attack ala Rosberg and not even getting investigated AND finally for Kova for giving Kimi the idea that if you ram the guy infront you might get his position and thus pick up some points. As I mentioned earlier both Kova and Naka and almost Rosberg went on to score points at Buttons expense. OK I'm digging deep. It was atleast a good race. Yes poor sutil definately. |

Button got his wing broken near the beginning which to me looked his fault. His race was ruined then by the Toyotas running around on well worn full wets, but he shouldn't have been in that position in the first place. Barrichello actually LAPPED Button. He had a superb race and finally got a result he has deserved for a long time. |

It may have been Button's fault, but it looked to me as if Button had a gap coming out of the chicane and Nakajima pulled over into buttons path. Probably unsighted, so racing incident at the most generous. I'm happy to concede Ruben's had a good race, but Button had the measure of him most of the weekend and in qualifying too. |

Barrichello had an immense race. Button usually excels in these conditions, but a lot of those with reputations in the wet didn't do so well today. Alonso, for example. Gutted for Sutil, he was up where he was on merit and most likely driver of the day. |

A poll on Formula1.com asks the question "Which of these drivers impressed you most in Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix? Sutil, Vettel or Webber?" Sutil has 91.67% of the vote so far. |

Vettel was, like Hamilton, to some extent fortunate with the timing of his pit stop, just as he was in China when he finished fourth. A good drive by him nonetheless, but Sutil was ahead of him in an inferior car, having started lower down the grid. So there is only one winner in my opinion. |

Alonso would have been fine if he hadn't made that stupid move on Heidfeld. It just made no sense at all, there was no way Heidfeld would have been expecting that. If he was that much faster, which he seemed to be, he could have made a move into the chicane or something. In the same way it was a bit amateurish for Rosberg to knock his wing off on the first lap at the hairpin. He's looked uncertain in all the wet F1 races he's taken part in. Loads of drivers made mistakes today, the key was getting away with it. And they key for Hamilton was that for once, Mclaren did the right thing at a possible dodgy moment. I think the only of the top drivers who had a (seemingly) error-free race was Kubica, but as we saw he didn't have the pace to win. |

true. i was and i was loving it . i thought - aside from lewis middl stint - kubica was the most impresive. Sutil drove well, but attrattion played its part. |
