Soundly beaten? He finished one place behind Kubica in 2 of the races, and in one of the others he was shafted by the safety car and in Sepang he was pushed wide in the first corner and pushed his way admirably back into the points. The points table doesn't lie. People just look at qualifying and automatically assume the gap is bigger than it really is. |

Nope. Despite the points table I'd say Heidfeld has been a disappointment this season. You have to ask yourself why in a lot of races Heidfeld is having to make 'comebacks'. Because he's not doing as good a job as Kubica. He took the praise when he was stronger than Kubica last season, he has to take the flak when he is being outperformed this season. Because he IS being outperformed. If you qualify low down, you can't blame anyone other than yourself. That can't be used as an excuse to defend someone's performances. Such as Alex Wurz last season, his qualifying performances were abysmal yet some people still found room to defend him. |

Well it's the points table that judges the drivers at the end of the season, so I'd tend to agree with its findings. "It matters not how you get there, but where you end up!" |

And if the last 4 races are anything to go by, Heidfeld will be some way behind Kubica, as Kubica has scored 12 more points than him. Or is that up for debate as well? |

Lol, you can't just pick out individual races, you have to look at the season as a whole. And that shows that the gap between the BMW drivers is smaller than McLaren, Ferrari, Williams, Renault... |

Maybe, but you can't possibly say that Heidfeld has performed on the same level as Kubica because he simply hasn't! |

Kubica has been alot better this season than Heidfeld. Apart from the first race Nick has had a right thrashing in all honesty. However if this afternoon's race is wet I would expect Nick to finish ahead of Kubica. |

starting 5th and 13th respectively on the grid... that will be a tall order... or a very high attrition rate...

Apart from when he was shafted by the safety car and pushed wide on turn 1, he's been 1 place behind Kubica. If that's your definition of a thrashing, can I ask how you define a narrow defeat? |

Is that when Hamilton finishes 4th and ITV interview him rather than the first three...

He was actually running fifth until Alonso barged into him, although after that he was shit. |

He did sustain quite a lot of sidepod damage in that incident, apparently, which might explain why he performed poorly afterwards. But it was a good effort from him to get up into fifth, especially in such a short time. |
