Well well well, that did surprise me. As for ITV commentary, F me could their head fit any further up Lewis's ar$e. I.E. in Q2 WHAT A BRILLIANT LAP, LEWIS IS INCREDIBLE.............at the same time as i am reading their own on screen data that shows on the sector speed trap he is 0.200 behind Massa time

Both ITV commentators missed Lewis getting it a bit wrong at Loews, it took them till the replay to figure out why he had lost so much time in the second sector.

There's not much point putting 'spoiler' in the sub-title when the title gives it away. But yes, I generally agree about the biased coverage. Obviously ITV thought this was going to be Hamilton's weekend and were trying to will him on, consequently there was some exaggeration about just how well he was driving. |

Great effort from Massa, now lets see if he can hold it together in the wet tomorrow DC did a fantastic job, hardly any running at all this weekend. He was the fastest man of all in S3 in Q1, as he was in the RB2 a couple of years ago. Bad accident but in fact it probably only cost him 1 position. What happened to Heidfeld? Rosberg, Alonso and Glock did great jobs. Though Allen was terrible today. Brundle said something like "the Red Bulls will be happy to be in the 15s" and Allen completed ignored him and went off on a tangent about Hamilton. |

Completely agree, i would say this was DC's best qualifying performance of the season. He had missed so much running with a couple of mechanical problems that i was worried about Q1. To make it through on his first run was good stuff, really bad luck with the crash but i dont think, like last year the Redbull suits Monaco. Heidfeld didnt have any specific problems, couldnt get heat into his tyres apparently. The turnaround from last year between him and Kubica is incredible. |

It was unbelieveably bad today. His 'great laps' turned out to be useless every time. Even a Williams was faster than him in Q2. I'd back him to crash out if it's wet tomorrow, having your car sideways is not the fastest way to go round a corner. |

I honestly have no clue as to what's happened with Nick this year. I thought he would continue to show Kubica the way, but he has just been off the boil since Melbourne really. Perhaps a little complacency set in over the summer - he had just signed a new deal with BMW and was their #1, so maybe he took it easy and didn't prepare thoroughly enough. Though that really doesn't seem like his style. |

I think he is struggling with the F1.08... during pre-season testing it was literally un-drivable by both drivers, and although BMW worked very hard to correct the car it seems the improvements suit Kubica more than Heidfield... He has said as much but in fairness to him he also said that was no excuse and he knows he needs to do more... BMW have an option on him which expires in September... |

Coulthard usually goes well around Monaco, and more than probably any other circuit, experience counts here. As such it's not so surprising to see that DC did pretty well, although it was impressive that he was on a par with or quicker than Webber for much of Q1 and Q2. Of course, the team now have a job to rebuild his car overnight, so come the race tomorrow he'll have a much steeper learning curve than everybody else to get used to the car. Unfortunately I don't think a good result is on the cards for Coulthard tomorrow, but if it rains it will be impossible to say who will come good. |

I think DC will be OK. Bearing in mind he'll have the opportunity to fill his tank to the brim and will be starting 10th. That should guarantee a top-10 at least, and who knows depending on what strategies others are on might well get him in the points. |

He'd hardly done any laps with the old suspension tbh As for this Heidfeld thing, I really cannot believe some of the things I'm hearing. He is FOUR points behind, yes four, not forty. For goodness sake give him a chance. |

He's been soundly beaten in the last 4 races though, and before Kubica ran into problems in Australia he was ahead as well. It's quite a major turnaround since last season and I doubt that it's all through Kubica simply improving. There's no excuse for qualifying 13th or wherever Heidfeld is if your teammate is 5th. |

Heidfeld has been slow all weekend, maybe he's just not dialled into Monaco properly. Who knows, the promised rain tomorrow could be a real leveller.... But yes, Kubica has been comfortably quicker than Heidfeld so far this year, and I have to say I'm surprised. |
