"We tried a few new components and improved the set-up. The car is stronger at this type of circuit - slow and bendy - compared to last year. I think that Ferrari has made a big step forward in the areas where we weren't strong last year.

I wonder if one of the components is reinforced wheel struts in case of any inadvertant contact with the barriers? <devil>

The Ferrari does seem to be more comfortable on the tighter circuits, but Monaco is the first real test of that theory. Mclaren do have a tyre heat advantage over Ferrari and tyre wear shouldn't be as much of an issue as it was in Turkey, so hopefully it'll be a close race between the red and the silver cars.

"Overtaking is almost impossible, so the car has to be set up really well. It feels great to do a fast lap here in Monaco, but to do that you need to be in the front. It's important to qualify well.

"In Monaco this is a priority. I always try to get pole, because this is the best option for the fight to win the race."

Does this mean that getting pole on fumes is still going to win you the race? With the SC refuelling ban and the threat of rain, it still might not be a bad idea to qualify slightly heavier than the others, even if it does cost you pole.

It's a very fine balance at Monaco between being at the front and pitting to soon. You HAVE to be on the front two rows to win. The Ferrari should be fast enough to do that running a little heavy.

Ultimately the winner will probably be the last to pit of the top 4 (all predictions are guaranteed 100% wrong, or your money back).
