How many races can Marco Piccanini represent FIA?

There are many websites wanting Max to resign, for sake of argument, assume he gets a massive settlement from the News of the made up, and decides to retire on the money;

who would replace him and how many races could Marco Piccanini carry out his roll before getting the job or getting someone else to be FIA president?

Now the Monaco Royal Family doesn't want anything to do with MM either. Is deportation going to be their next step?

I think, were Max to resign, Piccanini would continue as FIA President until the end of Max's term (i.e. 2009). Only then could a permanent successor be elected.

Makes sense. Piccanini is a deputy president at present and would just continue as FIA officcila representatve until 2009
