The Home Office is refusing to respond to reports that an MI5 agent has resigned after his wife was linked to a tabloid sting on motor racing boss Max Mosley.

It is claimed that the spy's partner was one of five prostitutes who took part in a sex session with the Formula One mogul before handing over footage to the News Of The World.

MI5 director general Jonathan Evans has reportedly assured Gordon Brown and the Home Secretary that the organisation itself was not involved in the revelation.

<wtf>

So am i to believe MI5 pay their staff so little that their wives are on the game and they don't reveal this in their CV for our secret service. How many more MI5 family and relatives act out Nazi role plays?

Or could it be they were consenting adults and this woman wanted to make a quick buck selling the footage. Either way the full story has not been told by Max, the woman or the News of the Scum.

While the MI5 connection is interesting, it is still not clear who was involved in the surveillance that Mosley claims and, most importantly, who was behind it. Mosley has hinted that this may be related to commercial dealings in the motorsport world.

Does he mean Honest Ron <yikes>

See the 'nervous Max' thread. MM talks about the 'commercial negotiations that have been taking place in recent months'. Don't think Spygate comes under that heading..

if I read the quotation marks around commercial correctly, it implies there could be somewhat shady shenanigans going on?

That should be even more of a reason for Mosley to sling his hook(er)
