Story

After long standing complaints by BMW the Touring Car Bureau has acted by halving the Seat TDi' s rev limit from 8500 to 4100. It won't make a massive difference but should reduce or remove SEAT's top end advantage.

Cutting their revs in half seems mighty steep.

It's not as harsh at it seems because they never managed to rev up to that anyway. That was more a limit for the petrols, but apparently it did allow SEAT some crucial extra grunt at the end of the straight.

let's just hope it's not too little to late to keep BMW's interest beyond 2008

Lets also hope that it doesn't cause SEAT to walk away too. I sympathise with the Bureau it's an impossible juggling act sometimes.

loosing either would mean an end of WTCC... but I cannot help but feel having BMW in is a bigger draw to other potential manufacturer's than Seat... still if BMW should leave... Lada are on the horizon

It's not possible to have a "natural" champion in the WTCC whether they drive a BMW or SEAT or anything else.

Being artifical hasn't exactly hurt NASCAR.
