I think he has done a good job, he was ahead of Sato during the whole 2nd half of last season and his record so far this season was pretty good. I think he had a brilliant weekend in Bahrain for example.

Sato has the better stock value at the moment due to that race at Canada last season where he overtook Alonso(in my opinion Alonso did the sensible thing and yielded the position). Davidson was on for a better result in that race but hit a beaver, what was he ment to do, use the emergency stop? And that point in Spain, that was a race of attrition if I remember rightly?

dont entirely agree dc - even in the second part of the season taku still had the edge at the larger testicle tracks like spa and interlagos.
and there is no way of knowing where ant would have finished in canada imo - iirc he was on a one stop strategy.yes he was in a good position when he had his collison but then unlike half the grid (including his team-mate) he hadnt actually pitted at that point.

i suppose how highly you rate ant depends on how highly you rate taku doesn't it? and i must say i've always loved the little japanese chappie - and i think because of his admitted moments of brain fade people tend to overlook just how quick he actually is. so i think ant did a decent job.

i would rate his chances of geting a race drive as pretty tricky though - there are a lot of heavily backed drivers like chandok and grosjean in gp2. and the grid is strong at the moment - only sutil is really being shown up by his team-mate so far.

lol ... and I suppose how highly you rate Taku depends on how highly you rate Jenson.

Jenson fairly paddled Taku's backside at Honda.

His team-mate comparison chart:

Sato Compared

Taku was also beaten by Fisi but that was Taku's rookie season and so possibly may be excused on those grounds. Though it should be pointed out that Heikki beat Fisi in his rookie season.

Fisi beat Jenson when they were teammates as well, of course. But Fisi was probably a better driver in 2001/02 than he was in 2007.

That's harsh. Rogue beavers aren't really anything you can do something about. <doh>

Davidson should have remembered that chasing beavers has been disastrous for many a young man.

I don't rate Sato (I think he's good for entertainment though), but the main reason I rate hin higher than Davidson is that Sato was the one who got the points when his car allowed him to. Davidson didn't.

One thing that surely nobody can deny is that Taku requires a wheel barrow.
