So, will ITV amend their opening credits to miss out Davidson's face?

They've still got the 2005 Red Bull in it so I wouldn't hold your breath :P

Maybe the qually regulations will change to 5/5/10.

I often wondered whether it was the 2005 Red Bull, but didn't want to say anything in case I sounded stupid! <roflmao>

Didn't think about the quali change, actually. 5/5/10 sounds good. It'll probably be that or 6/6/8.

Not a lot to say really, it was inevitable. Seeing as they have been at the back of the grid all season, I doubt their presence will be missed too much. It would be nice to have 22 cars again...but never mind.

If they replace the 06 Honda with the 07 Honda, how the hell can they expect to be remotely competitive anyway?

As far as I know that is what will happen. When the 2006 qualifying regulations were first drawn up there were only 20 cars, and the regulations stated that it would be 5/5/10 for a field of 20, 6/6/10 for a field of 22 and 6/6/12 for a field of 24. I imagine that hasn't changed.

As for the actual topic, I'm sad to see Super Aguri go. Would have preferred it to be their parent team TBH. Although I am vehemently opposed to customer cars, there's no denying that F1 needs as many competitors as it can get, and teams like Super Aguri went a long way towards achieving that. Pretty soon F1 will be nothing more than car manufacturers and the occasional idealistic billionaire; then the bottom will fall out of the motoring market and the manufacturers will go too.

Still, the memories will last a lifetime - Takuma Sato overtaking Button round the outside of Les Combes in Spa 2007: the irony was delicious.

OMG! They actually did replace Davidson in the opening credits! I didn't think they'd actually do it!

And, can anyone guess who the ITV homers* replaced him with?????

* Homer: American sports term referring to a person, usually a commentator who has a massive bias towards a home team or player.

Well of course they would do it. Why have him in the sequence when he's no longer in the sport?

I suspected they would replace his image with that awful shot of Hamilton winking...it was bad enough for the season preview show, but another 13 races??? :(

Please get another drive, Davidson! i don't think I can cope with "cheesy winking Hamilton" for another 13 races!!!

So switch on halfway through the race buildup. I necessarily have to do that since I don't finish work till twelve on Sunday, and I don't feel as though I've missed much. I'd far rather be enjoying the walk home with my attractive female colleague than watching the sermon from the Church of Lewis Hamilton for an hour before every race.

Just don't tell the missus. :P
