It's interesting though that one of Max's close allies, the Czech motorsport president believes it was something to do with spygate. So regardless of proof if Max believes that Ron was behind it, and this suggests that maybe he does then McLaren are going to be on the revenge list after Max's chums on the FIA World Council clear him next month.

..... look at Nick Leeson and how long he was hidding things. Although it did blow up in his face rather spectacularly

On the subject of Nick Leeson ...... I worked for Barings for a while ..... it is extremely unlikely that the directors didn't know what was going on.

Barings would have had to pay "margin" (collateral) to cover their exposure to the market. In order to do so they had to borrow money. Somebody somewhere would have asked the question "Why are we borrowing all this money?"

Bear in mind that we're talking about stuff his employees would have wanted to keep from their boss.

Hell most employees have dirty little secrate they don't want there boss to know about I know I have in the past.

If an employee really want something to remain private and hidden they will go to great length to make it so look at Nick Leeson and how long he was hidding things. Although it did blow up in his face rather spectacularly

All that you say is very true and you are right to surmise that in just about every organisation in every country, just about every employee will have kept some secretes at some time from the Boss... <thumbsup>

the only tiny difference is... we are not talking about just any organisation or just any boss. <doh>

I understood that Leeson had got himself into a position where he bypass the usual process and get the colateral in place without anyone knowing what it was for because he used to work for the accounts dept there. Or was that the bloke in the Soc. gen. incident?

Ron Dennis has denied having any involvement in the Max Moseley scandal. He also denied the team had any confidential Ferrari data, didn't he....

<roflmao>

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport...one/7377743.stm

Seems like too much of a coinkydink to me, but you never know.... <think>

So if Ron Dennis denies being a woman, this means he is one. If he denies being Martian, this means he's martian, if he denies being honest this means he is honest.

Stop acting like a bunch primary school kids.

You're accusing him on no evidence other than he LIED over another issue, so therefore he lies over everything.

If you want to extend the metaphor. Ferrari were once (or twice, infact more than that) caught cheating, which means they're cheating now. The only reason no one is pointing a finger is 1, they won't get punished if caught and 2, the finger pointers get investigated to find out how they got the info in the first place and risk being fined a ridiculous sum, and their competitive involvement in the series reduced to nil.

Forgive me, but didn't he lie effectively on oath? Therefore, how can anyone seriously trust ANYTHING he says, whatsoever? If someone is prepared to spout bull to a court that can throw his team out of the competition forever should they wish, why the hell would we believe him when he says he wasn't involved with something that will have been done so carefully as to be untracable?

I'm not going to go as far as to say that I think Ron IS involved, but merely suggest that he's got the perfect motive and opportunity to be able to set such a thing up. I've never trusted Ron, but then I'd not trust Jean Todt or Flavio Briatore as far as I could throw them either. The NoTW has a motive as well, I understand Moseley had previously done them in court for something, and I'm only too aware of how newspapers are always desparate to sh*t on someone in return if they lose a court case against them.

Ron may very well be innocent in this case, but I'll be damned if I'll believe him when he says he isn't. Lepoards, spots and all that, you see.

Odd that, having broken the law of the land and the rules of the sport in order to get info to sh!t on their competition. Still, we can forget that, can't we?

I mean, if you suspected someone of having an affair with your partner, that makes it legal to assualt them, right?

Only if he knew at the time he was speaking that what he was saying was wrong. If he didn't, he was simply mistaken, or actively misled.
