ITV has a very interesting interview with Sutil over the weekend in which he claimed he was feeling the pressure now that Force India were fighting further up the field. This got me thinking. He looked half decent last year when the pressure was off but so far this season he's looked completely lost and yet again he made a silly error at the start which cost him and Vettel. Does he really have what it takes to be a driver in Formula One or is he just not able to perform when it really matters?

I don't think he will be in F1 beyond this season, not in a race drive at least. He's considerably slower than Fisi and is making a lot of mistakes still. The move he tried to make on Sunday was ridiculous.

Would help if he stopped ramming into DC at the start and subsiquently taking out Vettel, which has happened for 2 races in a row now.

Sutil has been very poor this season which has been a suprise but i do feel he will get himself sorted out and start to show us why we rated him last year.

I am sure himself and Vettel will both have a good race soon <thumbsup>

DC's car seems to have some polar atraction to other cars, Massa, Button Sutil and Glock. I am not sayig all these incident where DC's fault but Redbull must be getting pissed at the repair bills.

As for Sutil last year he looked good against an average driver in Albers and super against the less than average Yamamoto, Fisi however he could not match Alonso in the Renault, is far from slow and is showing Sutil is still learning and inexperianced. As a result I think Sutil is trying too hard and over driving which inevitably makes you slower.

Sutil need to back of a little and learn from a driver who in his career has race at both end of the grid for a sustained length of time.

Albers was OK, and Sutil beat him comfortably, so I still reckon he has a future in F1. He'll probably have to go into a testing role if he wants to get a long terms future though. Small teams like FI are not guaranteed to stay around and new owners (if the team for whatever reason decides to leave F1) would probably want to bring in their own drivers.

That said, I do think Liuzzi should get a shot in the FI for a few races.

Sutil has been really dissapointing, in qualifying Fisi has had half a second on him and we know hes not the greatest on the grid. If Sutil isnt able to get close by Silverstone we may see him out the door.

I recall a huge amount of hype surrounding Sutil. So many people jumping on the band wagon. We don't really know what is going on, maybe he's having to adjust to a new car or just have a bad season or maybe Fisi's caught the coulthard virus of how to revive your performance and cling on for another year and this has overshadowed sutil somewhat.

Does he have the luxury of time to prove himself? He has one of the hardest team boss critics around in F1 in the form of gascoyne yet I don't think I've heard him complaining.

I was impressed w/ Sutil, and though he would do well against Fisi. IMO Fisi is past his best days, and if Sutil cannot hang w/ his elder, then he won't stand a chance against Lewis, Alonso and Kimi.

I think Fisi was just disadvantaged by joining Renault at a time where the team was built around Alonso. In my opinion, he's still got the talent to compete in F1 for another few years.

He won his first race there though, and failed to build on it.

The first race was a bit of a one-off. It was raining all over the place and Alonso had lost out to the conditions in qualifying, hence Fisi had a free run to the flag.

He also flopped last season, when HE should have been team leader. He doesn't have what it takes to perform in a team that is at the front.
