Doubly so when that publicity involves Nazi style S&M. I mean, how can anyone put a positive spin on this. The least Max can do is resign so he can go clear his name. Then, if he is completely in the clear, he could be reinstated. What Max doesn't understand is, despite him claiming that he did no wrong, he has still offended people and that will stain the whole sport. |

I haven't really commented on this yet, and I know some of you will find this surprising (especially those of you who know my political views) but I honestly think Max has done less wrong than the media in this circumstance, and should be allowed to stay on to the end of his term. Don't get me wrong, I don't think what he did was particularly good, but it's totally legal and normal people get up to this sort of thing all the time. Besides, F1 istelf is hardly a paragon of virtue as far as its sexual ethics are concerned. Grid girls are basically softcore porn as far as I'm concerned, in that they get paid to be looked at, and are usually (except the ones in Muslim countries obviously) showing a fair amount of skin, so what Max did was only a couple of steps away from that. Also, at least Max had the decency to do it in private. I'm not saying it was completely right, but it's his decision, and I think it's outrageous that he faces the sack for it. The media are the real bastards here for fabricating all that nonsense about Nazism and fuelling the fire. Incidentally, I voted for the third option, but only because it sounded funny.

Self - harm is generally regarded as indicative of a degree of disorder requiring the professional attentions of a psychiatrist. Anyone who is that disturbed is not competent to run a whelk stall, never mind a body like the FIA. |

And yet Max managed competently enough, at least in the eyes of his colleagues, until this little bit of 'news' came out. Yet, as soon as it does, they jump on him. If, however, they hadn't found out, they probably would have let him carry on. Hence, if they sack him, it'd only be because they know this, not because he's actually done anything worthy of sacking in his professional life. Or, to quote Bernie Ecclestone: "What Max does in a London sex dungeon is no business of mine" |

Well, I had to put down a comedy option. We can't all be too serious. I agree that Max didn't essetially do anything wrong but his actions still harm the sport's image. Some people will find his actions deeply offensive, especially in the emerging markets for F1 such as the middle east and singapore, where they are more conservative about such issues. I don't know whether there were Nazi conotations but one of the prostitutes has come forward and said that there was. Equally, I guess that she may not have particularly good credibility but no more so than Max. I feel that Max has had his time as FIA president, it is just a shame that it takes a scandal to oust him instead of acknowledgement of the fact that he doesn't know what he is doing anymore (and hasn't done for a number of years). I just hope todt is more fair handed than I suspect he will be when he gets in. |

I don't think their issue is of comptency, after all, the world of the FIA can be awfully sicophantic. It is more to do with the embarassment. The FIA is a very political organisation these days and in the world of politics, you are only friends with someone as long they are useful to you. Now that Max is an embarassment, he is not as useful as FIA president as he was before the story broke. I mean, how useful can an object of ridicule be as the boss of a global body? |

I was merely pointing out the ridiculity of the situation, in that it had required something like this to get them to sack him. I find his actions pretty disgusting but it doesn't change the fact that this stuff is going on every day and there's pretty much nothing you can do about that. My point is that the media are the real villains for giving this story so much publicity. |

The media? The world? Its a media driven world. Geez. The temple of all the is wrong with the world, yes? Max is completely to blame. The media are nothing but a mirror of society. get over it. dont add fuel to the flames of this story by reading articles on it or posting in forum. - Phew, rant over! |
