I wonder how many years it will be before all 'television' has the ability to become streamivision?  Think about how much more accessible it would be - no more having to have dishes installed on your property, having to ask or beg the landlord if you rent, etc....

Having said that, as BT still own the overwhelming majority of the infrastructure I have zero confidence in the ability of it to cope....

<grrr> BT Vision takes this one step closer to reality. its great.

But not as good as Virgin on demand..... That's not what you think it is Ricky!!!!

What's the catch?

Try using ITV.com to watch some programmes and you soon find out.

The interesting thing about the online rights is that they are completely independant from TV - so given the fact it's a 1 year deal, we could end up with a situation in the future where ITV show the races on TV but the BBC or someone else win the streaming rights.

Maybe TPL could bid for the streaming rights? I'm sure we'd have no shortage of volunteers for the commentary positions!

Haha, it's useless. You'd think though that the way they are parading this on their website that they will at least get it right.

The last time I went to watch something on ITV.com it told me it wasn't available despite advertising it on the same page!

This seems on the face of it to be good news....

However for those whose ISPs have capped download limits.....

To be honest this, and the BBC i-player etc will all cause the same problems......

I can't even get it. Probably the internet system here, it doesn't allow live timing to work either. Good job I'm home tomorrow!

Can you get BBC iPlayer at uni, Chris? Looks (superficially, at least) to be the same software.

Yeah that for the most part works fine. The page just keeps freezing whenever I try and access it. As for live timing, it updates every 30 seconds. So not very live!
