http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/4149403.stm I mean, a few years back I spent a similar amount on some stuff from the US via eBay and that never turned up, and I didn't get my own page on Auntie. Granted a V8 without sparkplugs isn't quite like a balding kid without a wig, but isn't there more newsworthy stuff about?? |

Other than highlight that Ebay is not as safe and cosy as the adverts i don't know why it attracted such publicity. Just an observation, it says nothing about the family, but its obvious such a young girl losing her hair would be traumatic for any teenager, why didn't the family help fork out for a wig purchased here without making her spend just her own savings? If they had helped out she may have got one already by reputable retailers. Buying off the web for such an item seems odd, how would she know it will fit or are these things one size fits all shape heads? Surely going to wherever you go to get one measured up in the UK makes more sense than buying off the web. By all means if money is tight use her savings as well, but to be brass necked enough to say you stood by whilst she saved and used her own money seems odd to me, its not another mobile phone or ipod she wanted to buy. |
