Two-time British Touring Car Champion Matt Neal will return to the Bathurst 1000 this season.

The Vauxhall driver will race for sister marque Holden in one of Paul Morris Motorsport's Commodores in the Australian V8 Supercar round.

He will share the car with team boss Paul Morris, former Bathurst winner Russell Ingall, and sportscar regular Boris Said.

Neal finished second at Bathurst in 1998 in a Nissan Primera and last contested the event in 2000 when he clashed with race leader Neil Crompton while being lapped.

"I didn't cover myself in glory last time I went out there so I have unfinished business," Neal told Autosport. "Everyone who knows me knows I'm not a dirty driver so it would be good to go back and prove that.

"But I've got to be realistic. There are some extremely quick drivers out there in some very quick cars. I've got to do a solid job and hopefully bring the car home."

Neal will share with Said in the warm-up endurance event at Phillip Island to get to grips with the car.

He said: "I'm looking forward to that. I've never driven there before and I'm told it's quite scary in a V8 - they've got over twice the horsepower we have in the BTCC."

Erm, you're from the BTCC, that kind of goes with the territory.

Erm.... four drivers? Whenever I've watched the Bathurst each car has had two. Oh, and Matt Neal is a useless whiny twit.

Paul Morris Motorsports, or Sirromet Wines as they are known on batracer are usually a two car team so i'd expect those 4 drivers to be share around two cars

i think the bigger story on that team is Boris Said rather then Neal

hopefully they'll be some Said Heads at the race

interesting that Fabian Coulthard who drove for PMM last season isn't one of the 4

HAHA .... if it is the same Boris Said who messed up his pants during first practice session and left the circuit and never returned the one time he was at the Nordschleife then i feel really sorry for Matt Neal.
