I doubt it, he was bloody irritating to say the least. Still, I think the subtitle on the front page of The Sun was a little disrespectful (if true), which stated "Beadle's not about"....

<rolleyes>

The man was a comic genius I used to love Beadle about, some of his prancks where brilliant nobody could touch the guy in that department.

Whilst strolling around at lunchtime, happen to pass a newsagent, and nearly all the papers had this as their main story, or on the front page.

It’s either a case of a slow news day or that he will be genuinely missed.
Any age is not great to die at but at 59 years he died young.

I used to think he was irritating as a tv personality, but his charity work should have earned him more than a CBE or whatever. Always sad when a personality from our youth passes away

I never even knew he did charity work, let alone raise £100 million for charities. An OBE is not enough for an amount like that. I know celebrities get slated for doing the charity run to just enhance their own popularity but £100 million is no lip service publicity stunt.

As a performer i grew to dislike him as i could not stand his TV persona which he was trying to promote over and above the clips he was showing and the only reason i was watching. He wasn't a comedy genius his show was a rip off of candid camera which just came at the right time to fill a niche in TV scheduling. You've been framed was an extension of other shows showing home videos you now find on YouTube.

Condolences to his family there was more to him than his TV presenting revealed, but other than take my hat off to his charity work i am not going to say now i liked his TV personality more than i did.
