Should a member of the Royal family be paid £100,000 and given free watches when the country pays for them for everyday activities???

Personally i feel the money should go to charity of a fund to pay for themselves.

Last year Zara made alot of money being the face of Landrover but is this right???

Also she received a MBE in 2007 for her services to equestrianism.

She should be good as she does nothing else <sarcasm>

As far as I know, only the senior royals get money from the state. In addition to this, they earn money from their land and pay tax on any income. I have no issue with a member of the royal family having a job and being paid for it. It is work (of some description) after all. Though I do admit that free watches is a bit like taking the piss. I guess the publicity that they get from Zara wearing the watch more than covers the original cost of giving it to her.

It is not a matter of her being a royal or other wise. Rolex are using her success in the sporting arena to market there product. It is only the same as the guys that have played Bond being given Omega watches or Mclaren drivers with Tag's

Its just a rediculous set up that people with money get freebies all the time! regardless of where there riches came from.

I saw an interview with someone on T4 no idea who she was and her music was rubbish, but i repected her because she said she donated all her sponsorship handouts directly to charity as she felt that with her record deal and the money it was generating she already got more than enough.

Look at the oscars and other such awards the nominees get gift bags with all sorts of stuff in. A couple of years back all the female nominees of best actress got a diamond encrusted bra worth £3000 - £4000 form some nicker company. Do they deserve it no is it worth getting in a flap about no. If your famous companies will want to have their product seen on or with you. It is the sad nature of some people today that if Paris Hilton were to get a pair of shoe made from spun hippo sh*t, they would become the must have item of the month.

I think it's ridiculous that a member of royalty can be given a New Year's honour, especially as grandma's estate basically pays for her to ride horses all the time. There's not really anything wrong with the sponsorship deal, assuming she gives the money to charity, of course, after all, she's well known, and that's what big names go for for advertising. Of course, it would be much better advertising if she was wearing just the watch....

Lets not forget some of the good that the royals do. Prince Charles raised more for charity that even Princess Diana, yet he never got anywhere near the kudos that she did.
